I have been trying for hours the last 4-5 sunday afternoons to get into a nice race but it seems its always crap.

Drivers that go out of the race so you stuck with 2-3 drivers, racing with those f1 cars between normal cars, you wait till a race is over to join and then they keep driving rounds and rounds and the race just wont start so people coming and going all the time.
Joining a race and when it starts the position says I am 3th but I know I drive last spot??

Its always something and I never had a full race that I enjoyed.

I am not the best driver but I am learning, one thing I always try to have a car that fits the idea of the race and the most of the opponents and to drive clean.

How to find a decent race?

Check out the races in this sub-forum.;)

Or create your own lobby, with your own restrictions. The best races are normally lower powered cars as well. Set a 300 bhp limit, sports softs, and make sure skid assist is off and penalties are on. A degree of damage Is never a bad thing either.

I never seem to have a problem finding good, clean races online. Just look for rooms using street cars under 500 hp, Aids OFF, and Sport Tires. Ive also had good luck with rooms marked GT300/500 or JGTC. Of course with penalties and aids off. These actually seem to be some of the best rooms, great drivers. Good luck.

If you're looking for some clean racing, then I'd suggest www.worldleagueracing.com
We're currently running 2 championship series at the moment. The Showroom Showdown, which is using completely stock cars from the arcade list, and the Lotus Challenge, using a full race modified '96 Lotus Elise RM. We always welcome new members and are more than happy to help with any questions you may have. Hope to see you on there sometime. :)

Check out Lay Z Boy Racing League follow the link in my signature. We have good fun races that are clean with varying skill levels.

Thanks for all answers as I really thought that online racing was how I did experience it until now.

I will follow up on advises mentioned and will look for those races :)

I run my own little 1-man business, which causes my schedule to be very chaotic. For this reason I rarely know my schedule more than a couple days in advance. I've never been able to schedule to join any of these planned events here. So I'm stuck looking for good racing quickly online and agree that looking for the following will usually find you an excellent clean race: Sports Tires, limited power (or now PP), and most importantly Heavy Damage. That's a hard one to find. On the rare occasions I host races I always specify heavy damage. I think that, more than anything else, scares away anyone who isn't a skilled (or at least careful) driver. I've hosted a series of fantastic races with random clean drivers from all over the world. Great fun and plenty of good clean races.

When you find people who are good clean racers, add them to your friend list. Chances are, they are like minded and are also seeking out good races. Once they are in your friend list, it's easy to find which rooms they are in and join those as well.

As mentioned above. Always pick a room with low restrictions if you are learning. The following rooms will help you:

1) Rooms with lots of restrictions, for example 300hp max, 1000kg min, sport soft tires
2) Rooms with low PP restrictions, 300-500 is a good start
3) Rooms with titles that say "spec racing" where drivers have to pick from the recommended list of cars.
4) Rooms with boost low.
5) Stay clear of nascar rooms.

Item 1 keeps out the drivers who want to run race cars, Item 2 allows you to run a tuned car against other tuned cars to see how they run together. Depending on your power/weight ratio it can be interesting. Item 3 assures that you are racing against drivers and not cars. Item 4 allows you to catch up to the front runners so you can follow and learn the line. Be courteous when you do catch up though because people don't take kindly to being rammed from behind by a car that was given a boost on the straight. Finally, if you are having trouble, start your own lobby and put something witty in the title and add your own restrictions.

and why does it only have to be the low hp races that are good when are people gonna start having good high performance races wtf I JUS WANNA GO FAST! lol and jus have a good clean race

For informal, on-the-spot online racing, starting my own room has given me good success at filtering out dirty drivers. I set most of the settings to max difficulty and realism. Another thing to do is: Once you find clean, friendly drivers that are good opponents for you, send a friend request. When your friend list gets bigger, you just go to the Community section and scan down your friend list for people who are currently racing. Clean racers gravitate to other clean racers.

I've had the same problems as many of you. My solution was to race a lot online early in the game in random rooms, keep track of and befriend the good hosts and drivers who ran clean rooms with regs I liked and over time you build up a group of guys who race clean, in the types of cars you like. It's all about who you know really. Some people stay away from Nascar but there are some great Nascar rooms run by guys who rule with an iron fist and as long as you run clean you can run all night and have a lot of fun.

Over time you meet some pretty good racers and the experiences gets better. It's a matter of seat time. The leagues are good fun too sometimes but they often come with rules that don't make racing fun for me. I don't like heavy damage because I don't like getting hit by someone else, through no fault of my own and my 20 lap race is ruined. Or it's a reverse grid starting order, and you are behind a noob, doing his best of course, but he brakes 200 feet before the corner and your race is over before it began. Limping back to the pits isn't fun racing for me.

When racing in random rooms I found the following guidelines useful:

1. If the title doesn't clearly define what vehicles or class of vehicles are in the race stay away. So far I'm staying away from points regulated races because I've found that hosts are setting up rooms and finding cars that meet the regs but somehow have a second or two advantage and they just run that car over and over and over and to me that's not fun.
2. If the room does define a certain requirement but you put your cursor over the current regs and find they are nowhere near the room title stay away.
3. If you enter a room you think you might like, and the host is not interacting through his mic or on the message board with the drivers, leave and find somewhere else to go. Good hosts announce start times, chastise the poor drivers, etc. You aren't sitting in the dark wondering what's going on.
