I've been doing some research recently, and I've found out that going from as far back as arcades in '83, with Pole Position 2 onward, there seems to be a racing game that has Suzuka in some form or another. When I wanted to start an actual count, I reached almost 40 or 50 or so and realized I was only at halfway into the 16-bit era, and got really intimidated, and thus quit like the wimp that I am.
Suzuka has an extremely rich history in gamimg, even certain racers that don't have the track give nods to it in some form or another, like Virtua Racing and it's big wheel at the Big Forest track; the track apparently has a permanent impact on developers.
One of these days, I'd like to tackle the the count again and see exactly how many games have Suzuka in it. If anyone has the courage to try such an attempt themselves, be forewaned, there's a lot of them.
What say you guys, do you think it's the most used track in games, and if so, do you think it's warranted or merited?
