Is the audi r8 race car from '01 any good?

hi everyone, i was just wondering if the audi r8 race car 01 would be a decent buy. i am saving for sauber or xjr9 but in the allstar challenge i noticed that the car that came consistanly second to me was the audi in question; it beat both the sauber and the jag, not to mention all the other lmps. i cant find anything about this car anywhere and thats why im asking here. is it actually better than the sauber etc? and if anyone owns one what are its best features and max hp? a quick response would be greatly appreciated since its in the last spot in my ucd and i cant do anymore races til i decide what to di with it.

No.Seriously.
 
The car is fine but you may wish to keep saving for the car you really want. I would not want to recommend it to you, for you only to be disappointed.We all have different taste.
 
okay thanks, thats more of an answer i was looking for:) can you tell me any figures about this car? like max speed etc anything you know. btw if you could compare it to any other car peformance wise which would it be? i know the performance of practically every other car.

umm.. i would say 220++ 700hp, but the pescarlo c60 has better handling, hp and 230+ top speed.
 
i disagree, i love that car, and i keep diving it to win dream car championship, one of my favorite LM cars
 
Haven't tried the R8 race car, however the R10 TDI is one of my favorite cars in the game. Not the fastest ever, but it has loads of torque and a fantastic cockpit view.
 
In real life it won the 24 hours of Le Mans 5 years in a row. It's clearly a good car. I love it.
 
900 kgs - Turbo Stage 3 Upgrade = 900 BHP + Correct Tuning = 273 MPH Drafting on Le-Sarthe .

I bought it for that reason. Two AI R8s also beat (lapped) everything else except me in the Indy 500, including the infamous C60 Hybrid-Judd.
 
I have the R8 and the R10. I drove the R10 in the Dream Car Championship and it killed everyone. My R8 is fully restored (engine/chassis) and it puts down more power than my R10, but the R10 has the torque. Haven't driven the R8 though.
 
I use to B Spec Le Mans with the Audi in GT4 never lost i liked it then as i do now. I bought it quite early in GT5 but we all have different preferences as to what makes a good car.I am happy using it but i agree the Sauber is better. The Jaguar is good too another car i grind B Spec with. Plus when upgraded it wastes the AI so unless it is for online racing i can't find a fault with it.
 
The R8 is a great car! I have both the red/silver & yellow/siler versions.

Unfortunately, it is not as fast as the Sauber C9 or Peugot 908 or many of the easily attainable "free" cars in the game. In my experience it is faster than all the Judd cars.

go bday gift yourself a C9......you will love it!!!
 
It rocks, whoever says the Pescarolo is better clearly haven't tried both cars. The R8 is the best LMP race car...
 
I have the R10, Toyota 88C-V, R89c, Pescarlo C60 Hybrid and the R8. R8 is just as capable as any of the others and feels better than the R10.
 
If you compare the Pescarolo and the R8 you will see a great difference in lap times..

The R10 is by far the worst LMP race car in the game, not sure why...

The Pescarolo Hybrid can't cut it for some reason at Indy. At La Sarthe though, the AI goes beast mode with it.
