I got the df pro 2 months ago, and today i finally got gt4.. Heres the prob.. when im playing with the dfpro, its realllllly hard to turn it, i feel like im forcing it to turn. like its fighting me.. and it keeps trying to center itself while im turning.. its really pissing me off... it makes it impossible to play.. so should i return my df pro and get a new one?

It is suposed to do this this is foce feedback. You should be able to turn it down to mild in the options (Don't have gt4 yet as in the uk). Or you can reuce it by pressing a combination of buttons on the wheel (check ou the DFP thread it'll tell u there)

I play GT4 with the DFP, but it's not hard to turn at all. I can usually one-hand turns and everything easily. It's supposed to try and center due to force feedback, but from my experience it's not that hard to turn, even with 100% force feedback.

Maybe you can try messing with the calibration settings in options or you can turn down the force feedback.

if this seems odd to you, what other racing games have you played with the Driving Force Pro? Is this your first time with a force feedback wheel?

I'm having the EXACT same problem.... The car is driving without me touching anything, it's hitting the gas and the wheel is moving like a ghost is driving.

It's also VERY hard to turn.

I... dont understand. :indiff: does it do this for other games that somewhat simulate car physics well? It doesnt sound like anything unusual to me unless you are at a complete stop and the wheel is moving... then something is wrong.

If the wheel is moving when you are driving on its own, its to simulate bumps and changes in surface, since you dont have a whole car around you to slightly tilt or shake, the wheel does slightly. if your holding the wheel it wont seem so odd. It helps make driving more intuitive, like real life.

Am I making any sense?

Im having the exact opposite. It is to easy to turn. I was expecting it to be harder. My dfp also does not always come to the center. If I let go it just stays at the same position. But when I play GT3 the wheel is pretty hard to turn and it fights for the center. I dont know if its my copy of GT4 or my DFP?

It does the same thing when I play NFSU2 sometimes not all the time When I hit the brake the car won't stop brakeing. And it then goes into reverse. What I usally do is I unpluck the wheel.
And then pluck it back in. try that it usally works

LMFAO ppl...try driving down a straight road in real life and, making sure that it's an empty street...dont' touch the wheel. you will see how the wheel moves and tries to center itself when you hit the gas....but too much can cause more turning...just the road surface.

Right, too many noob players here who have never driven a car in real life.

Force Feedback, exactly what the name implies.

lol viper.. i guess I shoulda been more blunt. but they should get the point now. I dont know if threads like this are funny or annoying.

I love the force feedback, I feel scared going down that long last straight at the ring 200mph+ trying to keep the wheel still, ooOo the chills, gotta love it.

It might help if you gave us a bit more info on your setups cars driven, also if you have the power supply attached (for people who find it to easy to turn). Other than that we can't give you any more help.

Yeah, and even fewer who've actually been to a track. For those that have you can appreciate the game a whole lot more.

Although i'm still confused as to how I only drive manuals in real, yet I can use MT for the life of me in GT.....

maybe because its a sequential shifter? I think its easier ingame to shift than RL. Its just your shifting points are a bit important since you have auto clutch.
