I am umming an ahing about whether to buy the new (and previous) DLC. I have the first pack but I am wondering whether this new one is worth getting?

It is no good me buying it and never using the features so are the cars and the track worth the ££'s? Preferably good points and bad points to them would be nice :)

Car Pack -
PRO: Perhaps one of the most eclectic car pack yet. Mixture of speed and classis cars.
CON: Nissan Leaf :/

Track Pack -
PRO: If you race online with friends and are interested in going as fast as you can in GT5, then great!
CON: You might get bored of the feature and the novelty will probably wear off. Track will stay alive with online racing probably, but not the first track will come to mind when you feel like taking your car for a spin! It's basically a revamp of the old 'test track,' which did what it said on the tin!

Totally subjective by all means, but PD are constantly improving this game and DLC's are the way forward for doing this. The last DLC was perhaps a bit weak, but this one actually brings a new mode to the game along with good cars and a track the GT5 needs.

So a yes on this one, a no on the previous :) thank you for your opinion :)

Anyone else have one? 👍

Can you use the new mode on any track? If you can, that I will get it. Otherwise, what kind of max-Gs are you going to get on a huge oval with 13km straights?

Car Pack:

 Good: New cars. Im equally excited for both the Aventador and the VW Beetle. Car Pack 2 and 3 are much better overall than Car Pack 1, simply because they include production cars (which are to my taste). Also I dont hate/dislike Nissan Leaf. 👍
:grumpy: Bad: Well..... they could've included the XJR-9 from the start instead of now in the premiums. If you're gonna add a LMP car Mr. Kaz-san, at least let be a new one, or at least a different one than the already existing cars. Same goes for the VW. 👎
______________

Test Course:

 Good: A test course was badly needed in GT5. GT4 had multiple, still it's better than nothing. I wouldnt pay 4 euros, but it actually tests stuff, so yeah I'll get it. Plus it's a nice course, especially at night. Fun to drive even at online, which was unexpected to me.
:grumpy: Bad: Uhm...whats bad about it? Well, you can use it in both online and offline, but it may be a bit expensive after all. 2.50 euros would suffice in my opinion. Other than that it's a nice and helpful add-on to the game

PS: DLC is not yet available here since im in Europe. :ouch:

Depends what you like, i'm not getting it non of the cars interest me. Waiting for pd to give us some DLC with JDM cars.

They probably did not finish them in time for the games release. And the VW is different than the existing one... not much different, but it is different. With the premium version of the Mazda 787 included in the game, I think they were planning to do a premium version of most, if not all, of the LMP cars but ran out of time.

Yup, im well aware. Kaz said in the interview that he neede a couple of years more. Even so, im not that big a fan of the whole turning-standards-to-premium-models idea. I prefer new and fresh stuff. If a LMP car is to be included in a pack in 2012, at least use the Audi R18 which is an amazing machine. I dont think the Jag was a nice approach......nevertheless, it is slightly different like the VW (as you correctly pointed out) and we also get to have it's paint chip....so it's all good I guess. 👍

For the cost of the dlc and the time you can spend enjoying it I think its worth the money. I have one problem though psn store is give me an error when I give the credit card details and try and make the purchase so I can only watch the dlc cars maybe if some uses one in a lobby that I join.

Like others have said, i would've liked it more if they made new premium car models we have not already seen in standard models. In this sense the Jaguar XJR 9 is a let down (would've preferred to see an XJR 14, Sauber C291, or even a Peugeot 905 evo with front wing).

The addition of the Lamborghini Aventador is fantastic, but one trend i haven't liked since GT4 is adding a lot of these filler cars that I would not care to drive at all (honestly who cares about how a Prius handles or if it comes in "premium" model?). And now that they're making us pay for DLC packs that IMO includes a lot of these fillers, it makes it a tough choice for me to purchase. I would rather they allow us to buy each individually, buck a piece.

go and play it for free online first before deciding if you like it, I did and had decided to buy it after one lap but after a few more laps and seeing a 499km/h aerodynamic speed limit on the x2010 I have to wonder whats the actual point of the top speed test? Can the x2011 go faster than 499km/h? I have never driven one. But having said that my tuning probably sucks haha, I'm sure proper tuners can get the most out of the cars i have mentioned.

I tried that loved the track but is it always a night time track?

Every room I went to had it at night

At first I was just gonna get the cars because of the Aventador and the Aston Martin. I then decided to get the test track for the acceleration tuning and stuff. Have yet to race on the test track and I don't imagine I will race there a lot but it's good for tuning. The cars look awesome.

I just purchased the track and had a few runs.

I can see myself getting a lot of use from it learning how to tune and it adds a new element to the game which we should of had in the initial offering.

PD has to make its money but I really wish we had this track sooner. :grumpy: I'm guessing it will be included in GT6 from launch, I hope. :)

I had a few races on the track earlier. I can not believe people would pay for it to be honest, that's just my opinion of course. Obviously others like it.

Most of the racing I do is on Nürburgring, so this test track has no benefit or interest for me, and is a waste of money. As are most of the cars on offer. I will buy the car DLC for the Aston Martin alone.

As a consumer I expect better than what PD/ Sony has been offering up. If they wish to add some decent tracks, I will be more than happy to pay them. SPA was good, this X thing is surely a joke.

You do know this track includes on how your car performs on a 1 mile drag, quarter mile, 0-100 kmh, 0-200 kmh, max Gs?

Wow, I really didn't expect that answer. I am not a drag racer myself, but I know there is a big part of the community who would really want to do timed 1/4 mile races. I don't see why PD didn't include this option.

my opinion...

track/course pack: 6/10 ( new track is always new to gt5, plus you can test your car's limit and make a quartermile run here.

car pack : 3/10 ( not interested to these cars, especially the nissan leaf, only the aventador and the aston martin v12 are good)

i just only purchased the track pack..i skip the 2nd car pack (so far the worst car pack for me) and the current car pack.sorry for bad english.

Will buy the car pack for the Aston n lambo. Car pack 2 was a waste but there were some good cars in pack 1, specially the R35 TC. can't see me getting the use out of the test track, but I fear I may buy it anyway. GT5 still working out as the cheapest game ever in terms of cost per hour played

The Game itself sells for 20 bucks (Cdn) now; so they make their money with DLC; can't blame them :sly:

I bought the car pack; but passed on the test track.

I want real world circuits Kaz :grumpy: I'll pay for those :dopey:

I am only intrested in the track and two cars, lambo and jag. Think I will just get the track for now as I don't realy want to spend a fiver on two cars, I probably won't use them much anyway, if they are hot online I will most probably change my mind but for now I will just get route x

Yes and yes. 10/10. The new content is amazing, even the damned Leaf is well made and refreshing... If you don't get, you'll probably spend this same cash on something you'll forget in some hours. (beer or junky food)

I have got it and will do a review for it and post it on the OP so people can see :)

And mmmmmmm beer and junky food :D
