Just wondering. Is the Red Bull X2014 Standard worth buying or owning?
At 920 PP are there any PP level races of that high number available? I haven't seen any so far. Not sure if it's worthwhile owning if there aren't races that will win credits available. Same goes for other cars at the 900 plus PP level.

You don't need to own any Red Bull cars for career mode. The Red Bull events are done in loaner cars & when you win the events you get the cars as prizes.

You only need it if you want it for anything else, such as online races or time trials.

You get it for free from the Red Bull events anyway, so I don't see why not.

I find it's probably the best formula car in the game. Easier to drive than Formula GT and Lotus 97T, but not as crazy as the X Fan cars. Sounds great too. Think of it as replacement for the F2007/F10 in GT5.

To be honest, I don't think any RB, except for the Red Bull Junior, is worth owning. I don't own one, nor have I ever bought one in GT6. I had a Sebastian Vettel X2010 in GT5, since it was the reward for reaching level 30. But I never really liked the way it drove. I felt that it had way too much power to control. It also has an incredibly bad reputation in online lobbies, for obvious reasons. The Red Bull Junior, on the other hand, can actually be quite a pleasure to drive.

Get the Red Bull Junior if you want a Redbull. It ain't nearly as fast as the X2014 but you might like driving it, even on highly technical courses. But if you want one of the 900 plus PP RB's, just get the cheapest one. Just prepare for all the haters in the online lobbies.

You also can win the X2014 in the Red Bull special events.

It's alright. Personally I prefer the X2014 fan car. Why?

Because Fan Cars at Daytona. You MUST try this. It's white-knuckle, bumper-to-bumper superspeedway racing at its best.

If you can win it, which is quite a chore in itself.
I won the Junior one, but the RB X2014 Standard escapes me.

Put Racing Softs on, and turn on TC if you need it. The AI only uses Racing Hards so that will give you an advantage. If you can win it reliably it's the best Championship to grind too.

Been trying to win it with Bob. Bob at least keeping up with them better while I manually accelerate accordingly. Almost reached the first three a couple times. Will try put some R Softs for Bob next time.

With the X cars the key is to get used to the cornering speeds and trust how much later you can brake and how much speed you can carry through the high speed turns. Once you get used to it the AI is actually as easy as any other race. Also, if you are using a controller, turn down the steering sensitivity to -2.

If you are not against winning at all costs, you can also cut the first complex of Silverstone, the last chicane at Apricot, and the last chicane at Nurburgring. If you can win 4 races reliably, you can skip 1 race completely and that still mathematically gives you the Championship win (cuts significant time if you're grinding credits).

What works good for me also is at the beginning of a race if I could slam into a couple cars by the first corner or so and dislodge them I can get ahead of them (at least some) and have a better chance of finishing higher in those races. Got a couple second and third place wins in one or two races that way, with Bob of course. Not pretty but jot the job done.
Now if that could happen in other races in the championship that'd be cool. I'd take it.

Good news. That advice to put on the Racing Soft tyres was the best advice ever LeGeNd. Just tried the Red Bull X2014 Challenge Championship again but this time with the Racing Soft tyres as suggested. Put Bob to the wheel again and between both of us with me manually accelerating accordingly in between we did it. Here's how it went.
Race 1: 2nd (woot woot. Pat myself on the back)
Race 2: 2nd (Said to myself ahh haaa, yes I'm in the game now)
Race 3: 6th (Said to myself ok, try not to panic now, just keep momentum, don't make errors)
Race 4: 4th I think (By this time I was 4th overall in the championship. Last race to go now)
Race 5: 1st (YIPEEE)....(Got a pretty ok start and caught up with them bit by bit and near the end overtook the lead car for 1st).

Finished 3rd overall for the championship and won the RB X2014 Standard car.
Happy now. Sure worked for it.
Thanks and cheers.
