Is the S-License required for anything in GT4?

I quite literally couldn't find this anywhere on the internet, so I'm sorry if this has been answered before and I'm making an already answered thread. Is the S-License needed for anything to be unlocked? Like, IB gives you driving missions, IA opens up to more challenging events etc. But as far as I know, you don't need S License. Am I correct in that or am I wrong? Just wanna know so I can save myself the hassle of doing S-Licence if it isn't required. ty in advance!

S License is needed for a few of the extreme events, especially the Formula GT Championship.

Most of the Extreme events require an S-Licence.
