Can't seem to find one new anywhere for a reasonable price.

Everywhere I've looked that has one is asking for ~700-800 USD for one, for that price I can buy a CSW base and BMW rim.

And since I'm almost willing to pay that for a quality setup, if Fanatec's CSW stuff isn't the way to go, what is these days?

Which brings me to my first segway, has Fanatec stuff gotten any better in the last few years? Last I checked while their gear was excellent they suffered from reliability issues and poor customer service.

Haven't been active in the racing scene for a few years so I'm a little out of touch at present.

T500 is always hard to find. I it was in stock before gt6 and assetto corsa but now it's sold out. Amazon has f1 version though but for $700 >_>

Yea, the only prices I've seen any model of the T500 (Usually the F1) has been for between 700 and 800 dollars + tax + shipping ..

Didn't that thing used to retail for 400 tops?

Given its scarcity let's assume it's not going to be readily available for a reasonable price (sub-400 dollars) the entire first quarter this year, think I'd just be better off with Fanatec gear?

Or is there something I might be better off getting that's already in that 700-800 dollar price bracket I'd be paying for a CSW base and rim?

There's always the TX that's 319.99 at Radio Shack. But don't work on ps3 /ps4. Fanatec csw is pretty badass though, just no xbox one support for me personally

Wheels always are a PITA to find around the time of a GT launch, but I'm sure with the extra burden of producing and releasing the TX Thrustmaster might be stretched a lil thin.

Fanatec seems to be about their usual selves. Great gear, bad track record for reliability, and inconsistent customer service. Still, the CSW is a REALLY nice looking piece of gear!

I have a T500RS now, I bought it during the whole "$400" period as an open box deal I couldn't pass up, and gotta admit I love the thing, I have 3 rims for it, the brake mod, and while I loved the G27 I had before this thing just outclasses it. Now is it worth TRIPLE the G27's price? Man, I don't know about that... but I can say if I was going to spend $800+ on a setup, I'd probably give the CSW a shot.

TX really seems to be a nice wheel, people who own both say once you swap on a better rim (GTE or F1) it feels just as good as a T500RS but smoother. There are a few pedal options now too. Unless you need that PS3 compatibility or just feel like spending more, I'm pretty sure I'd go for the TX.
