Is the vibration on a G27 going to annoy my flat-mate?

I'm looking to make my first foray into sim hardware, primarily for Gran Turismo 6 (but potentially for other sims too :)). It seems like a G27 with brake mod is a good place to start as I want a decent product, but without spending so much I might regret it (if there is better for the same price, tell me! :D)

My concern is that I live in a shared flat with laminate floors throughout and a wooden ikea desk, if I strap the G27 to my desk, is the vibration strong enough to cause problems? I have no idea how well these wheels isolate vibrations so you feel it through the wheel, but not through the entire unit.

Does anyone else have experience on whether the vibration can be strong enough to annoy other people, or are they well enough built to isolate the vibration from the base of the unit?

Cheers :)

No vibration on the floor you only get it through your wheel and you say about annoying people very minor noise but I would not setup the G27 next to you bed if someone is sleeping.

OK cool, she's actually a flat mate... so in the room opposite mine. There is a wall between us, but you can hear people walking about and stuff since every floor is wood.

If it is just through the wheel, I guess I can get some carpet cuts or something to place under my desk to try and isolate any vibration :)

I would not worry about vibration because there is none on the floor you only get the vibration through the wheel when you are driving over rubble strips or curbs which is very minor.

The only time you are going to hear a vibration is when you stamp your foot on the ground or hit your head on the desk or table because you have made to many mistakes.:lol::lol::lol:

Plus if you can turn down the FFB a little at night if she is a really, really light sleeper.

Heh, OK... she goes to bed at like 9.30pm or earlier... so I will probably will still be playing then :p

Best invest in a stress ball also then :D

The wheel itself won't be a problem - if you have an audio system with a subwoofer, that could definitely be a cause for concern, as far as vibrations go.
