Is there a connection between XP and PP?

Just wondering if there is a relatable connection between Performance Points and Experience Points?

If you win a race with a comparatively low performance car do you recieve more eperince points?

Is it a sliding scale?

Looking fwd to the thoughts...
 
havent thought about it that way...ill check up on it as soon as i get home
 
Wouldn't it be just as easy to run a race with two different cars and see the outcome as posting the question?

I've not noticed any differences, but I haven't really been looking either.
 
a-spec points were that way in gt4, I don't think xp is that way in gt5.

I seriously doubt it, and after 4.5 months of following various GT5 boards and topics I've never yet seen any mention of such a relationship.

It brings to mind one of the things that Forza Motorsport does better (at least FM2 and FM3 that I know of), though. In FM your winnings from races depend on the difficulty settings for the race. In the case of FM2, turning on assists decreased your earnings, as I recall, while FM3 viewed it in the other direction and had a base amount and then added additional earnings on top of that if you turned assists off or played with a higher AI setting.

I'd like to see a similar thing for GT5, whereby you are rewarded for challenging yourself. It would give players extra motivation to start upping the difficulty rather than being content with cruising down Easy Street forever.
 
^^ this, it pure common sense, but PD hasn't had any common sense for awhile.
 
This would be an awesome idea hope PD Implement this.
 
To answer the OP, no.

As for whether this relationship (or something like it) should exist, I'd have to say yes.
