What do you think?

In the previous GT series, the developers used the Test Course to drag. I think ....

*builds up suspense*

Well, maybe he meant "drag track" by the divider in the middle and the light that points out "Go" and the crowd and eveything?

i suppose that would be more realistic rather than using the test course, have a seperate 400m/ 1/4 mile drage strip and use that to test the speed and accelaration.

Very much correct, i remember Sega GT had a proper drag strip with drag racing...cool at first but...wow that got boring fast.

Vs. a computer in like .. "single" player mode would suck. With friends/online I guess it would be fun, especially if you had a fast car that all the other fools didn't know could be tuned to be that fast.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........................................................ Naaa.
Since about November last year basically the only thing i've been doing in GT3 is taking cars up the 1/4 mile.

I hold some of the quicker times around the world. (well only known by such places as Racing-line.org.)

Some of my times may not seem too fast but consider the fact that all of them have been done without TCS or ASM and they seem a bit quicker.

Some of my faster times;
0:08.786 @ 271 km/h
RUF RGT - 1099 hp

0:08.976 @ 252 km/h
RUF CTR2 - 863 hp

0:09.005 @ 258 km/h
Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34) - 1072 hp

0:09.043
Tommy Kaira ZZ-II - 956 hp

0:09.126
Dodge Viper GTS - 1103 hp

0:09.395
Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R32) - 876 hp

0:11.932
Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) - 441 hp

Everyone has different interests. What may seem boring to you would be exciting to others.

Maybe I've never said this a lot, but in ways, GT2 had a lot of cool features that could have been executed better in the game. For example, why have drag cars ROAD RACE? As cool as the idea sounds, why have them? Some of the horsepower-limit races won't allow you to have a 1011 hp machine trying to get into a 591 hp race. I think the dragsters need to live a little on the drag strips. Why not hold some drag races? I mean, you can actually have some drag races with either drag cars you own or modified street cars. Is there a drag course? I don't know about you, but I think there should be one. If you want to stay with road courses, look at Sears Point and maybe even Heartland Park Topeka. What's the thing about these two courses besides the fact that NASCAR races them? Both are road courses that can sub as professional race circuits and as drag races. In terms of a road course that utilizes a drag strip, Sears Point is a bit more popular and a bit more cooler than HPT (Heartland Park Topeka). Like I said, GT2 had quite a few flaws now that I think about it. But that's for another topic for another day.

Did you know the F1 cars are the fastest for drag racing?

Not to go off-topic, but F1 Cars kick ass in almost anything (except rally).

i bet if GT let you rally with F1 cars, they would kick ass as well. Their Power/weight ratio is amazing. Just make sure you RAISE the car before trying.

You couldn't raise an F1 car enough to rally it irl, not without modifying the chassis and suspension.

I did indeed, but i've elected myself a policy to never use race cars in the 1/4 mile unless they are specially build drag cars (HKS R33 GT-R etc) and seen as there is none of them in GT3...

Hey John I reckon that's the shortest post I have ever seen by you!

Anyway's, If PD put a drag strip in the game we would need drag car's. We would need Australian ones too! But the bad thing about drag racing is it's too short and racing online would be a waste of time, unless you had one of those round robin thing's.:)

Does reply length matter on this forsaken site? Damn!

Anyhow, here is a small idea I had. Maybe some American car dealers will allow you to run a special American-car-only race series on the drag strip. It's going to take some magic to make it work, though. A great idea would be to have a series where you can race Japanese and European cars on the strip as well. Then to bring back the days of GT1, how about a "US vs. Japan" race whereas there are brackets for Japanese cars and American cars. The winning racers from both brackets will get to challenge for the title. To me, it's one thing to have a drag strip, but it is another thing to have it WORK.

Question is, would you want a drag racing series? Anything to win the game with a 100% rating, right?
