hi Ive posted a fastest lap on the forum, im looking for some competition to compare myself to, Its a shame too see there has been few entries, is it because of another problem or it hasnt really taken off

Because it still hasn't taken off. Many of us are still in the beginning stages of the game. It'll take a few months for people to start submitting times. I can vouch that there are a few that have really started to gear up on this idea.

patience.

I wrote in the leaderboard forum some hypothesis for the lack of time.
In short: the uploading form and the lack of filters for discarding multiple entries and tuned cars. imho it's not a matter of time. I've hundreds of good times to upload and I didn't because, with actual conditions, for me is just a waste of time.

It took me a while (newb) to figure out how to get "verified"...just bought a MAX Drive. I "submited" or at least "started the process" of getting Verified, so I'm in.

What times/tracks/mode have you posted? I'm at Apricot and Midfield.

I like the idea of a lap time board at GT Planet, kind of like GT3 Times.com.As soon as i get a way to confirm my times I will post a few.(my old x-port dosen't work with my new PS2)

It is probally this way with alot of other people as it is with me, but I won't really start concentrating on Hot Laps untill I have 100% in the game and there really isn't anything else to do but try beat the leaderboards.

I have set some pretty fast times IMO for Tsukuba.

I've also turned 53 second laps in my 71 Dodge Charger, which I think is pretty damn fast for a heavy muscle car.

Im currently in the process of organizing a fastest lap comp that is not so difficult compared to the 1 currently being used.
Ill post a new thread when ive got it down pat.

e.g. there will be 2 classes.1st being street cars.2nd being race touring cars. All cars can be fully tuned.

Ill post up details soon.and see how people react to it,if they like it ill keep it going and if not then will stop.

Are there any filters for sorting entires for certain course/car (class) combos etc... ? Didn't notice it when I had a look before.

I was going to upload one, but it took so long and asked for a lot of info I didn't know off the top of my head, which meant booting the ol' PS2 back up to look for it ... at which point I got bored and quit out.

I'll keep a pen and paper next to my PS2 in future :p

I've completed all the license tests, and was going to upload all my times in that section, but I saw the requirements needed, and didn't want to fool with it. I don't want to go back through each one and find out the HP, weight, etc etc etc..for each license test. I mean, it's not like those things can be altered for the tests anyway.

lethalchem u post at SVTP huh?

i would think another reason people dont post their times is the simple fact that they cant lie about their times. when they have to provide gear ratios, suspension settings and other technical settings. i mean the only true way to show that nobody is cheating even with a small modification is if they recorded the settings page and clearly shows what you have done to the car, and then while still recording raced and got some fast laps.

that is the only true way to prove the times you have gotten if they seem impossible to get.

Yup, I've been there for awhile. 👍

As for preventing cheating, it could be done, regardless of how many restrictions placed upon the event. All my license test times are saved in the game though, and we all know there's no tuning for those tests, so I can at least verify those.
