Is there a top speed?

I have a PT Cruiser (First car obviously) that I have won about 10 races with, but still a ways away from getting a Skyline or anything worth a second car. I am trying the turbo series right now and won the first race, however the second race, the large oval, my car seem to top out at 139 MPH and whenever it hits that mark, it drops back down to 135 MPH and the cars blow right past me. Is there a way to increase the top speed? It seems my RPMs are topped out at 139. Any help?

Actually that is the engine limiter. I had a Nissan 240sx (in real life) and it used to do the same thing. (to prevent the engine from destroying itself at high rps) Go into car settings before a race begins and go to the screen that shows the gear ratios. Set it a little wider (bottom bar) This should raise your top speed.

Actually, it has nothing to do with a turbo. All of the cars in GT3 have a 'rev limiter'. In real life, these are designed to keep you from blowing up your engine by over-revving.

Your PT Cruiser has enough horsepower at this point to hit the rev limiter in its final gear. The problem now is that your gearing isn't wide enough to allow the full power capabilities of the car to show themselves.

The best thing to do in this case is to upgrade your transmission. Preferably the Racing Transmission, because this will allow you to change the gearing manually to match each track.

Hope this helps!

Don't waste your money on a racing trans. for this car. Wait till you have a good car to upgrade something like that.
