Is there a way to prohibit/ban people from coming into your lobby in GT6?

In GT5 you could make private lounges that only your friends could see. I'm not sure if you can do it in GT6, I haven't seen such an option but on the other hand I haven't been looking for it, so...

There is a "friends only" option for any lobby you create and in any lobby you host, no one on your PSN blocked list can enter.

Well I am having a problem with hackers coming into my lobby..I know I can kick them out, but wondering if there is a way to ban them permanently? I know I can use the "friends only" option, but I don't mind others coming into my lobby, matter of fact I don't have that many on my friends list, and I wouldn't get many racers if I set it to friends only..I just want to keep out the hackers!

As was mentioned already, anyone on your PSN blocked list can't enter your lobby. Record their PSN I'd's and block them after you're done racing.

This. If you have trouble remembering their name you can go to players met on the XMB menu above messages where it shows a list of people you have met online.

Edit: Recent Players is actually Players Met. Thanks TexRex

"Players Met." ;)
I love that feature so much, but [fortunately] I rarely have to use it for things being discussed here and instead I'm typically seeking someone with whom I've raced recently.

@Biggbaddwolf there is no preemptive strike that I'm aware of--i.e. 'Driving Line Prohibited,' 'Skid Recovery Force Prohibited,' 'Hackers Prohibited'--and your only option for removal of said players is after it's come to your attention that they are presumed hackers. You might also try blowing their house down.

I would like to disagree with you here, I have blocked people on psn and they were still able to join. I couldn't hear them in chat, but they still managed to get in; open lobby not friends only.

Were you the host?

Were you the host?

Yes. It was only once that I experienced it. Another friend of mine was host and a person was kicked from the lobby, I added the person to my block list because of the nature of the kick. The next night about an hour after I started the room, the person joined. I could see the little chat icon going and he typed some colorful words about us not listening. I then kicked him, never again did I see this said person.

It only seems to ban people if you are host and kick them from the room, but I could still be wrong.
