I have my PS3 on the one component hookup my SDTV has and my Xbox1 on my one composite hook-up but...the Xbox just looks awful. Instead of having to switch out cables each time I want to use either the Xbox or PS3 on component cables, is there like a special switch-off component cable that I can use?

What I am thinking of is run both component cables from my Xbox and PS3 to an adapter and have the adapter in the component cable hookups on my TV. If I want to play Xbox I "switch" the setting to have the Xbox ran to my TV, and vice versa if I want to "switch" it to run PS3 to my TV.

Short version: Can I somehow run both component from my Xbox and PS3 to one component "adapter" to my TV's one component hookup?

Google search "component splitter" and you'll find loads of them.

That looks perfect for what I want to use for the component video but...what solution should I use so it also switches to the audio hookups? An audio splitter?
Use this or something similar.

A component source selector

You plug up to three component devices into the one box and it has one line that runs to your TV. The one I linked even uses a remote control to switch between devices.

The only problem you'll have with the splitter is if you have both the PS3 and Xbox both on at the same time. As long as you don't do that, you'll be fine.

As for the audio, yes, two of these will do the trick.

Play XBox while running a 24-hour B-Spec?

Just pointing out the possibilities.

I was gonna suggest a high-end receiver with component video switching, but . . . . ther may be a budget involved. :sly:

Oh I know you can play one then the other (and switch back and forth), but I meant playing the two at the same exact time.
