Is there anyway to download the 1.08 update of the internet

My PS3 is packing up a bit and is refusing to download any updates saying it has the error message "80710723". I managed to do the PS3 update by download ing of the web and transferring via USB to the PS3. Is there anyway to download the 1.08 update onto a USB as I did with the PS3 one or will I have to try and fix the PS3 before resuming playing online??
 
Nope, not as far as I know. You can only get game updates through booting the game up.
