Is there penalties in GT League?

Location? My Bedroom.
I know, silly question probably, but... whenever I see one of these pop up I lose hope of winning and I quit almost immediately. I've been staying in Custom Race way too long but I'm too scared to enter GT League because of that.

Is there anyone level 30 who can access all these races (Emerald is level 30, Right? Or is it 40?) who can please specify this for me? Thanks... I know I'm probably gonna get called a weirdo or a coward, but I'm very intimidated by the Penalty system in this game.

Confirm: no penalties in GT League. Also, the first two sets of leagues (beginner and amateur) are fairly easy, and can be won with untuned cars without much of an effort. Can't say anything about the rest as I'm level 28.
 
I have had a penalty in the Gr.3 endurance at Monza! Three cars had spun after the first chicane and I couldn't react fast enough and went right into the side of one of them and got a 5sec penalty! Not sure if it was that or for overtaking under yellows!

I've done a few of the other ones. For Premium Lounge - Blue Bay, it's pretty easy with some of the more powerful supercars, as long as your opponents is in anything but a LaFerrari (still doable, but it's a bit harder). You can tune the XBow to just under N400 and equip it with racing tires for Blue Bay to do the 375.000 cr grind (clean race). Again, doable even with an opponent being the LaF, but a bit harder.

The new Formula series is pretty hard (untuned). A lot of it is trying to go through turns faster than your opponents and trying to overtake them in the narrow tracks.

For the Ferrari-only race, you'll want a LaFerrari. In my experience, 1st place was the P4 and it is HARD to catch up to it.

Gr. 3 endurance, I tuned my Hyundai car.. but that's just because I wanted to see how it looked with a livery I made for it. :D So it could be easier with other cars.
 
You do get time penalties for short cuts in GT League. No clue if those are as hard to get rid of now as in sport mode. Before you could drive straight on at the chicanes on Monza, get 1 minute 30 penalties, which would simply reset to zero again.

Plus in campaign mode, you (used to) keep your finish position regardless of penalties affecting the finishing order. Dunno if that was fixed, you could have 15 sec penalty putting you in third and still get the gold for crossing the finish line first...

Of course if you want that clean race bonus, always keep 2 wheels on the road and anything more than a slight touch will take it away from you.
 
Yeah, no... no penalty is not true... An AI rammed me off track violently in a penalty area and I had 10 secs warning to slow down. I'll wait until GT7 comes instead, way too severe.
