Has ferrari made plans on who would eventually replace shumie? I mean Willaims have Gene in the wings and Ralf for a few more years, McLaren Kimi as a long term driver, but who does ferrari have?

Well, it's funny you mention that - the story kicking around at the moment is that the reason there hasn't been an announcement on Massa at Sauber is that Ferrari are worried that if Schumacher wins his sixth title this year he'll retire, and are keeping Massa just in case this proves true...

The thing is, Massa isnt really champion material. Kimi, Alonso and Gene potentially are. Ferrari need to find a "diamond in the rough" and fast.

i totally agree. when massa was racing for sauber, i didnt think he was any good. he sure was no kimi and definately no alonso. this might sound a bit biased coming from me, but i think if ferrari is looking for a driver to replace schumacher, how about webber?
he is self-handedly lifting jaguar to credibility

Certainly not the worst option. May be question marks over webbers "killer instinct" tho

Didn't Michael sign a contract recently with Ferrari until the end of 2006? Last I heard, everyone (key people like Ross Brawn, Jean Todt etc.) apart from Barrichello were signed until 2006, with Rubens staying there until after 2004. That gives 3 years for some new talent to arrive - in the last three we've had Montoya, Alonso and Raikkonen join the F1 circus.

yeah, he hasnt yet been able to show that. but he does like to have a go germany 2003, last lap in the stadium complex, tried to overtake button for 8th place, and failed. mark said after that "i wasnt going to get any points for 9th"

i do think webber is going really well considering his in the jaguar (remember irvine went from ferrari to jag and how crap he went) so i think webber should be givin a chance
