Is "Zombie Jeff Gordon" a meme?

Everybody knows what the Jeff Gordon NASCAR School is. It's actually known for "Zombie Jeff Gordon". I mean, i've been seeing images of him when using Google, complete with his infamous catchphrases such as,
"Are you ready?"
"Don't hit the cones!"
"NASCAR racing requires soft touch."
"You won't be able to master this car that easily."
So, is it a meme?

I could be wrong, but I could swear the mouth animation is different on my GT5 than the one on the OP. On my one I remember feeling an incredible urge to punch him in the face, when I see the mouth animations for when he says NASCAR. I'll have to check later.
 
This meme feels very forced, as I browse the internets and have never seen a jeff gordan "lol"picture. Closest thing ive seen was a rant thread during gt5's week one here on gtp about people getting tired of his mid race voice inserts.

Every meme used to be funny, but now it seems anything can be a meme.
The only thing i found stupid in the jeff gordan school was that the "start" on the screen blocked the cones and didnt dissapear until <1 second before i had to go over/under them, not his bad modeling
 
I don´t think it will reach the level of meme. For something to become a meme, it has to be something that appeals everyone in the pop culture. Its nice to think that it will be a meme in our racing and car fan comunity. But remember that most people don´t even now the difference between a Corolla and a Phantom.
 
Yeah, that is one of the worst renditions of any human being ever, especially for a next gen console!

If a meme is something that scares the living crap out of me every time I see it then yeah Jeff Gordon in GT5 is totally a meme.

I haven't seen it outside of the GT5 community though, so I don't think it's been embraced enough by the intertubes to be called a meme yet.

Zombie Jeff Gordon likes to point out obvious stuff, like that water is wet, or offer useless advice. "Did you mess up?" doesn't help in any way. "Remember, the car is heavy" is a Captain Obvious sort of statement.

Maybe, but I'm pretty sure it was at least temporarily listed on KnowYourMeme.com, though I can't find it there now.
 
I can't find it there either. If it was listed on KnowYourMeme.com, it will most likely end up in the Deadpool section.
 
I remember before GT5 came out wondering if PD would make good use of the NASCAR and WRC licenses and someone said that they trusted that if Jeff Gordon licensed himself to be used int it that it would be only the best...

Somehow I find Zombie JG kind of ironic in that sense...

Well, at least we don't need to wonder about it. I think most of us are questioning it in a WTF is that kind of way. ;)

Just be thankful it's not "The Tony Stewart Nascar Driving School", because when you fail a test instead of "NASCAR racing requires soft touch", you'll get a helmet shoved though your brain.
 
Memes and memetics are more than just lol cats and image boards. Religions and political ideologies are one kind of memetic structures for example. The similarity to word gene and genetics is intentional. :)
