I found this post on another forum. And I actually fully understand where this guy is coming from. There are really some things which are unfinished.

Do you all agree?

Please read below.

There are so many elements within Gran Turismo 5 that show no common sense, are missing or are a step back from Gran Turismo 5: Prologue that I’ve decided to try and list them. Most of these are minor issues, but there are a lot of them. After all those years in development, and delay upon delay to smooth out the game, it’s hard to understand why this following list is so long.

Regarding GT Life:
-Unable to use a stored PS3 image for the avatar
-Unable to change the avatar clothing once chosen

Regarding A-Spec:
-Race entry requirements are sloppy. Able to enter a compact hatchback race with a truck or race car for example.*
-It's a challenge to find select a competitive car, and enjoy the races in the Beginner up to Expert series, partly due to being able to enter with overpowered cars.
-No penalty system in place (Beginner -> Extreme series), can take circuit shortcuts, cause collisions without punishment.*
-No kart races, snow and dirt races - are greatly missed

Regarding B-Spec:
-Car entry requirements are sloppy - but not equal to the A-Spec list. e.g. different tire requirements.
-B-spec drivers are unable to drive certain tracks properly, such as Daytona Oval due to excessive braking and failing to draft.
-No kart races, snow and dirt races - are greatly missed

Regarding AI drivers:
-Quality of AI drivers is far and between - often able to pass all of them after the first three corners of a race*
-AI bumps and rams into people seemingly on purpose, most notably from behind on oval tracks*
-AI brakes excessively and often in places where it does not need to (such as the bend at Daytona's grandstands)*

Regarding tuning:
-Unable to fit parts that are in your possession in the tune menu
-Unable to store tune setups under different profiles, such as Prologue’s A-B-C*
-Unable to manually set gear ratio's with a Fully Customizable Transmission*

Regarding the Parts Shop:
-Unable to buy brake upgrades

Regarding Car Delivery:
-Unable to select and receive all cars waiting at once

Regarding GT Auto
-Available rims are limited to certain cars
-Unable to set rim-size
-Unable to fully review a colour on a car
-Paint colour items are one use only
-Unable to paint Aero Parts
-Rims have no stated weight or performance benefits
-Aero parts can improve car handling, shouldn't they be moved to the Parts Shop?

Regarding online racing:
-Unable to invite friends to your Lounge
-Unable to stop non-hosts to start the race
-No freerun-specific online mode
-No tournaments
-Unable to create events, or store various lobby settings to a selectable profile
-No Polyphony Digital sanctioned events like in Prologue*
-No credits or experience to earn with online races*

Regarding Arcade Mode:
-Unable to select any car from the GT Life garage
-Unable to select penalty level
-Unable to select opponent number
-Unable to select opponent cars
-Missing online leaderboards for timetrials*
-Unable to load online replays*

Regarding the Course Maker:
-Unable to create point-to-point races
-Unable to isolate a sector and alter it without it affecting other sectors
-Unable to set the track length
-Unable to set the elevation changes

Regarding weather:
-Unable to sync the weather to current real life situation
-Weather forecast missing
-Unable to set rain probability
-Unable to set rain intensity

Regarding time-change:
-Unable to sync the time to current real life situation
-Unable to set time in GT Life Practice or Arcade mode
-Unable to set the time on Course Maker track other than between the set times for each theme.
-Missing a comprehensible unit for the time-compression in online lobbies.

Regarding head tracking:
-Unable to use in GT Life
-Unable to use during pit stops

Regarding pit stops:
-Unable to change camera view
-Unable to look left and right in cockpit view

Regarding replays:
-Unable to fast forward or reverse the replay
-Unable to look left and right in various views*
-Unable to zoom in on the TV-camera angles*
-Unable to show the HUD without the other replay features being on screen*
-Unable to hide the HUD on replay views other than the 'TV camera views'*
-Unable to store or load telemetry
-Unable to gift replays to friends

Regarding the options menu:
-Race display
-Unable to set the map to Prologue style or reposition for Rally races*
-Unable to hide online notices such as people joining, leaving, chatting during races
-Unable to fully hide the HUD
-Demo
-Unable to select which items to feature in demo mode, such as museum, the intro movie or online replays*
-Units/Languages
-Unable to select units for speed, power, measurements*
-Change Button Assignments
-Unable to copy a button layout from one controller input to another
-Unable to store controller layouts to a selectable profile
-Audio
-Muting Race Background music mutes the trophy music as well
-Miscellaneous
-Unable to set button and paddle sensitivity, deadzones
-Mission option to turn off auto-save*
-Mission option to import cars from Prologue*

Regarding the user interface:
-Unnecessary prompt for an OK about switching the PS3 off during HDD access*
-Different styles for the same buttons in various parts of the game
-Missing Restart Race button on A-Spec & B-Spec race results page*
-Exiting from race results page turns to the A/B-Spec overview, instead of the pre-race lobby*
-Pausing the game mid-race, returning from the submenu ‘Quick Options’ will un-pause the game
-Unable to change Driving Options mid-race
-Back button Circle points the mouse to the back button, but requires the Cross button to exit a menu
-Tracks with different time or weather settings should not appear as separate tracks
-Invalidating a lap in Time Trial causes more than 1 notice about it to appear*

Regarding various inconsistencies:
-Unable to turn on dimmed / full beam light on during the daytime on premium cars
-Unable to switch off the wipers in rain/snow situations
-Able to photograph standard cars in replays, but not in Photo Travel
-The Top Gear track comes without a reasonably priced car, or choice of a standing start time-trial
-Each car needs the traction control, ABS, etc. settings to be re-set*
-No telemetry or Datalogger available for standard cars
-Data logger unable to store reference data
-Data logger unable to compare laps

Regarding damage:
-Visual damage should be an option throughout the game that can be toggled on and off
-Mechanical damage should be an option throughout the game that can be toggled on and off
-GT Auto Carwash seems obsolete, since snow/dirt does not carry over to other races or GT Auto
-Only gravel / snow causes cars to get dirty, I was expecting rubber / tarmac dirt as well
-No mechanical damage at all
-Visual damage does not seem to carry over from races
-Fuel depletion, tire wear are all disabled in A-Spec Beginner > Extreme modes.

Regarding graphics:
-Shadows have course jagged edges on the cars, causing a lot of flickering. Some cars seem to be affected more than others
-Shadows on the ground switch between various forms depending on camera distance. Ranging from Prologue style shadows (various shadow intensities overlapping each other) to blocky unaliased single layer shadows*
-Very noticeable pop-in on some tracks*
-Very noticeable screen tear
-Quality of textures and models amongst standard cars is far and between
-Quality of textures and models on various tracks is far and between*

Overall:
-Where GT5 Prologue often shows 16 car races (all premium), 90% of the races in GT5 only have 12 competitors, half of them are often standard cars.*
-Don't understand why the standard cars are so prominently featured in GT5 - and are required to race (such as the Lupo Cup) when they are so limited in gameplay / race experience.

Dear Polyphony Digital, get it sorted

While I don't agree with eveything on your list, the answer to the question is a resounding NO.

I've already made a list in some of the other threads, so I will skip that for the time being.

I agree with most of that article. While I enjoy playing GT5, it has definitely been released unfinished. Let's just hope big updates are coming, and soon.

I do sorely miss the polish from previous games.
Several of the things in your list have bugged me too, some of which I really would have wanted to be there, especially the restart race option etc.

Ai bugs me endlessly, and my game just froze during a loading screen after spending almost 4 hours golding my I-B.
Rebooting now, I bet all my progress is lost just like my top gear challenge golds were lost during a freeze before..
edit : ah no, they got saved this time thank god.

I just play the game on and off , all the little annoyances add up and end up killing the enjoyment for me unless I take several day breaks between sessions.
Valve once said that the secret to their great games is polish, endless playtesting and removing as many little annoyances as possible.
PD should have done some playtesting too instead of just debugging, too many annoyances and inconveniences.
