Is this LCD too good to be true?

I'm currently researching LCDs for a graduation present, and I found this Samsung monitor. I can't really see any bad parts with this, except it doesn't have DVI. Do I really need DVI?

What I really like about this monitor is the 8ms repsonse time and that it is a 19inch. I didn't think 19"s got that quick. Is there anything really bad about this monitor?

I also like the fact that it is a Samsung.
 
What is the point of buying a $350 monitor if it doesn't have DVI?

You can get one with DVI for the same price, if not cheaper.

Check out the Hyundai L90D. It has DVI and a 8ms response time for $10 more. It's the most popular gaming display out there (next to the Dell 2001FP). Tom's Hardware has a review and he uses it as his reference monitor.
 
DVI supports a digital signal unlike analog VGA. DVI can also display high resolution and HD signals too.
 
I run my PC through a DV-I cable into my monitor and the quality is great. Is it possible to connect my PS2 to the monitor using the DV-I connection? Would I need any other hardware to do that?
 
No, the best PS2 can do is component output. Most LCD PC monitors do not have component inputs (the Dell 2405FPW is the only one that comes to mind).
 
If you're interested, I highly recommend that you look at it in stores and see if you can detect any blurring during motion ...

If I understand the theory correctly ...

A response time of 16.667 ms should, theoretically, show no blurring at 60 Hz since it would refresh 60 times per second (1000/16.667 = 59.999 Hz) ... A lower response time would, theoretically, allow higher refresh rates without blurring ... An 8 ms response should, theoretically, show no blurring up to 125 Hz ...
 
Thanks for the opinions, guys. I think I might go for the Hyundai! (I never, ever thought I would ever say that...) Hopefully I will get enough for graduation to buy it!
