When i try to save my gt5 game to a usb to back it up it shows that the file size in saved data utility is only 476KB is this right? i found another file in another tab called game data utility and that one is 7269MB but i cannot copy this file only view it.

Yeah, that's right. You want the 476KB one if you're just wanting to backup your save. That 476KB doesn't include photos, which take up quite a bit more space, and I think it doesn't include Course Maker tracks. 476KB includes your settings, your credits, your stats, your progress, what cars you have, the stats for those cars (like mileage and configuration), what paint chips or museum cards you have, et cetera.
