Is toyota Altezza LM race car any GOod?

hi..
i just saw the statistics for it(toyota Altezza LM race ) and it was ok..
in your experience is it any good?
also, is lexus is300 supposed to have the same body style as altezza?

I haven't driven the LM car, so I can't comment there.

However, the Lexus IS300 is simply a rebadged Toyota Altezza. The only difference really comes down the company symbol on the car. Same with the SC430 and the Soarer. Lexus are simply rebadged Toyota luxury cars from Japan.

Personally, I love the Altezza LM, it's a light, well balanced FR race car with over 1000hp fully tuned ( 1002 HP ) i think from memory.
It struggles to hold it's own against the JGTC cars later on ( Tom's Supra etc ).

The IS300 is the lexus Version of the altezza, and is virtually Identical except for the engine, the IS300 has a 3 litre straight six, where as the Altezza was only made with an L4

The LM is a fun car to fly around in. I never really raced in it much though.

It can be used to slaughter the rally races, and with 1000hp and decent handling, can hold it's own on the race track.

ehhh it's ok, definately not the best car in the game...it seems to go through tires a lot faster than the Gilette Vertigo...which although it's hideous is actually a solid car.

Sadly, the IS300 is not availible in GT3. It only has the IS200, with the 2L 1G-GE engine (I'm pretty sure). The IS300 has the same engine as MkIV Supra SZ-Rs, the 2JZ-GE.

Edit: Why, look! Someone has dragged this thread out of the archives for no good reason.
Now that I'm older and wiser, I will add that the JDM Altezza came with the I4 3S-GE, which actually makes more power then the 1G (in the IS200, the 1G is emissions-choked. It's also a realitivly old engine.)
I think I've provided this information in various threads about 4 times now. I thought I was going to have to do it again, but I found that I already did!

I can't find any indication that the IS300's suspention tuning differs from the Altezza's at all in comfort/sport bias. The placement of the (iron block) 2JZ realitive to the 3S does force some significant amount of understeer near the limit.

Also, the IS300 was only limited to automatic in it's first year, after that I believe it got the Supra's 5 speed.

The Altezza LM race car is great to rally with, for fun not for top times. Same with racing on the road realy, it's great, i can and will win races right upto the Professional GT world series, but it's not the best FR car with similar power.
