Well there's been a lot of talk about who's going to fill the Jaguar seat next year. And Wilson needed to get some result to even have a hope of keeping his. I have to say I had mixed emotions about his drive. At the begginging of the race him and Webber shot up through the field all the way so they were running 1st (Webber) and 3rd (Wilson). In all fairness Wilson did follow Webber trhrough the pack and made some nice passing monouvers on other cars. Then it started tipping it down and Wilson came in (for shallow grooved wets I may add) and Webber spun off. Wilson then rejoined in 3rd after all the pitstops and stuff and gradually went down to 8th. :odd: 8th!!! He feel some way. But then again in all fairness before his final pitstop, in the middle stint he did change to shallow wets which were no way near appropriate, compared to others running on wets and the bridgstone runners. He then changed to slicks abit later and struggled initially as the track was still damp. And by the stage of the track drying out his slicks were already starting to show their wear and tear. Well that was my take on his GP although I have a feeling that if Webber had stayed in he might of been able to get on that podium or finished higher than eigth. Okay be it his first completed race but what you think?
Has Wilson earned the right to keep his drive or isn't he Jaguars ticket?
Although I think it will all come down to the next race and still he won't be secure for next year. :odd:

No i dont think he has. even though he did well in the race, i think jag would be looking for a driver with more experience. maybe Wurz would finally get that drive, and heidfeld had just been released from sauber.

Well now before you go judging him bear this fact in mind.

He's been at Jaguar for about four races now. Out of those four races he's only finished one of them. The rest were DNF's due to car failure.

His first race finish for Jaguar was in the points...

And you know the Jag's don't have the power or anything the front runners do. So i think he's earned his place for next year. :)

But i would say that, being a Verstappen, Webber, Wilson, Kaisa (sp) and Alonso fan. :p

well i dont know if he has earned it or not will have to wait and see

I see Justin Wilson as being out of the David Coulthard mould. I.e. ultimately not that good.

His run at Indy was mature, and he did bring the car home unlike his much-lauded team-mate, and 8th was pretty good in light of the car's being quite poor and the superiority of the Bridgestone wet tyre.

However, I don't think that Jaguar is the right environment for him, and I don't think he's there at the right time. With Ford in dire straits financially, and looking to reduce their fiscal commitment to F1, I think that there is a real possibility of a pay-driver being put into the second Jaguar seat. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Versappen in the car next year.
