Issues reinstalling GT5

Hi all,

I'm having issue installing GT5 from the disc to the HD.

I've had the game a year, didn't play it from around the time the 1st DLC pack was released until I tried again last week. I received the 32MB lack of space error. I deleted the game install data on the hd, but when installing the game data from disc (which I believe takes 50 mins) it just hangs about a tenth of the way into the progress bar. The time displayed changes, but never reaches zero. I've left it for 5 hours twice and it doesn't progress.

I then ended up removing everything again, turning off the network card so none of the updates installed before trying to install again - same issue. I then tried deleting my save game file and all the data so my hd has nothing GT5 visible left to be deleted - same issue.

Has anyone had this issue or have any suggestions?

Buy a new bigger capacity Hard Drive and avoiding future problems.
 
If possible, try another GT5 disc(rent/borrow) and see if it helps.

Yes it has something to do with your old HD.

A Hard Drive that is having problems will - yes WILL eventually have another problem that's why i wrote buy a "new" & "bigger" capacity HD than your old one.

Reason: nowadays with too much updates & saves, etc... you will eventually need more space.

You can still use your old HD but trust me it will have problems - been there.

Note: save your game often when done.
