It looks like the UK version of GT4 could be out in Feb 2005 I have looked on play.com and they say the game is out in UK on the 25th Feb 2005.

Game say it does not know when it be out in the UK I hope Play.com are right and I bet they are.

And why would we trust non-SONY or PD sources on a release date again?
 
Because play.com are a well knowen online shop in the UK and they have never let me down at all.
 
Unless the last time I brought something from them they might of employed some different people.
 
Basicaly what everyone will tell you through all the rantings, is that neither, Polyphony Digital, or Sony Computer Entertainment, have even hinted at any kind of a release date for the PAL version of the game. Anything you see or hear, even from the most respected source, is just a guess. Nothing more.

sorry dudes, had a good laugh though 👍 . that's why i revealed my joke quickly before everyone would study that site like true detectives in panic.
 
Can we confirm this thread being padlocked and have the key thrown away (in other words, locked for good)? Sony or PD make all the decisions, so unless some damn good proof is made, this thread will likely see PunkRock or Der_Alta or somebody close it with parting thoughts.
 
I've read things like these so many times:

"Hey, I've just seen that the release date of the blabla version has been set to february instead of march!"

"Where have you seen that?"

"It was at this online shop. I've ordered many games there, and they never let me down on a release date before, so they must know!"

Guys, all the online shops have their information from some source they think it's reliable, but the only institution that can provide us with good information is Sony. If you gather release dates from shops (that are reliable in your opinion) you'll end up with 10 to 15 different dates. I can only ask you to trust noone in this matter, only trust Sony. This doesn't mean that the release won't be delayed again if they present a final release date, but at least the release was really planned for that date then.

Don't trust any online shop, they can't know better than Sony, no matter how good they are!
 
Well SCEE is also saying February 2005. How official do you guys want to get?

*Note: SCEE HAS come out with alot of rediculous release dates in the past.
 
SCEE official relase still stays 23rd February (in release list published two days ago).

As I've been told, SCEE and PD will probably host a nice release-party prior to release on Nurburgring Nordschleife, for bussines partners and journalist from all over the Europe, to celebrate the release and push the press-coverage to the metal.

Not sure will the journos be alble to drive on the real track, or they'll just be driven by pro-drivers, but time will tell, as always.

I'll give you more infos about this specific subject as soon I get some facts.

A small point.

Play.com have changed their release date 17 times so far. The first one was December 2003. I've had it on pre-order since 17th May 2003.

The date is not concrete.

So, I think that warrants a "Ha" in the general direction of TVR&Ferrari fan and a "please close" in the direction of any friendly neighbourhood mods who may be passing.
 
Well , I've seen several of onlineshops here in sweden there they giving to wrong information about the realese of GT4. Once it said : 14th december 2004 and then ther realese never happened...Don't ever never trust them ;

Haha, I totally know what you mean, I was ready to punch my computer screen when I read that!

Oh, and its not only Play.com listing February 25th, Amazon UK are also listing that date, as is Virgin Megastores and HMV, so it seems a fair few places are going by that date. As far as I know the only official word is that is will be out Q1 2005, so that could be any time in January, February or March, my money would be on late Feb or early March. Also, the official UK PS2 site is saying February aswell.
 
Yeah Play.com know bugger all in terms of release dates, hell they don't even listen to 'official' dates. It wasn't long ago since they were saying 2nd Feb 2005, even after the 23/25 Feb 2005 announcement. They've changed it now, like amazon they're just teasing people along (although recently UK amazon seems more realistic).
