The big day has almost arrived.

On July 18th I will move from Belgium to Norway for staying there at least a year. I will have to go to school there (offcourse  ) and I'll have to learn their language. BUT, I'll be living out of the city, with lots of nature 👍 I dunno how they call it in English, a fjörd; Two mountains with a river between them.

Anyway, wish me luck :D

In English it's a "fjord".

and I'll have to learn their language.

I feel sorry for you. :( ;)

Just promise me you'll stay away from all lusekofte style stuff.

On the positive side you'll be amazed of how beautiful the nature can be in Norway. 👍

Yeah, I've been there last summer. When I saw the mountains and all I was like   . I climbed the Prekestölen, anyone been there? It's a mountain 600m above sea level, the climb is 3.2-4 kilometres and you'll do at least 3 hours climbing for it

But when I heard the people I was like; Whut? Excuse me? Are you talking to me? Errrr...whut?

I've always wanted to visit Norway. I tried learning the language several years ago, but failed miserably.

It's a very beautiful place though. :) Enjoy it!

Prekestölen, you mean preikestolen?

Yeah whatever

But when I finally reached the top (bad day, rain and fog, ) I saw these little Africans about 8 years old just lean over the edge! I felt sick when I saw that (I'm a little affraid of heights)

But when I looked just in front of me I saw the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life, with the fog though I saw a fjord just in front of de "prekestolen ;) " with these clouds that scraped just over the mountains tops 👍

I'll search for some pictures.

600 meters? Must be very impressive for you lowlanders. jk.
The highest mountain in Belgium is over 800 incredible meters. :nervous: :dunce: lol ==> The Ardens, you know, ....
Wow, I get dissy thinking about it.
I think you mean the Netherlands by lowlanders :), no??

My parents and grandma leave for Norway on Friday. My family is partially Norwegian. BTW, a fjord is not a city. There are fjords all the way down the coast of Norway.

Must be very exciting for you! Since I've been in only three countries(Japan, USA and Canada), both Norway and Belgium sounds like a whole another world. Good luck!, have fun. :)

Good luck on learning a language in 1 year :(

It can be done if you have enough exposure to the language, and you're willing to learn.

Euhm, here in Belgium we have no mountains, who told you that ? (ardens 800 metres? :dunce: ) The ardens is what we call the highland of our country, it's about 500 metres above sea level. When it's higher then 500 metres we call it a mountain but here in Belgium we have no land higher then 500 metres.
