I planted two tiny rose bushes in early January, and made a nice little area for each one. I've added lava roack, fed them twice a week, watered them almost every day, and despite a distinct lack of rain and record highs, it's finally yielded something.

It's so rare that you see the actual fruits of your labor. :)

I agree with milefile :irked:

Good work, but with the lack of rain and water restrictions...it's hard to garden well here...our grass is dead because we didn't water it for 14 days when we went on holidays...that was two months ago.

What?! You can't? That explains those weird rashes I have! ;)

Good work! My family has a nice rose garden in our backyard, yeild yellow, pink, and mix color roses all year round! Good for the girlfriend when you don't have any money! :D

Now all you need is a small fountain, a lawn chair, and a good book, and ahh...

We've had an unusual amount of rain the past week or two, and because of that my lawn is like a golf course right now. Every time I come home I'm pleased by the sight of it. That's one of those little things.

My house is one of the few with grass in the nieghborhood (a lot of people have xeroscaping), and the only one with a nice, maintained lawn... if I may toot my own horn, as it were.

I can't beleive they make the gardens in two days!

If you send a letter they would make it a special US edition like the one they did in Nelson Mandela's garden!

The nice thing about these roses are that they are far chaeper than buying them in a store. And they'll always grow back. $3 each; they flower for years if kept properly. It's was a nice little surprise present for my lady.

Rain won't be a problem in May-October, the entire state basically becomes a giant hydroponic land mass! The figures at the bottom are a rabbit and a bear; they're symbolic creatures. They were $5 each at Lowe's. I'm saving up for a koi pond one day, not quite as expensive as I first thought.

There's a place halfway from st. cloud to melbourne that sells koi goldfish. I wouldnt mind having a koi pond either.

Definitely. I mean, I don't understand the water restrictions, the south is in the worst drought for 100 years, but up here is just fine! :irked:
