Heres the deal...I was trying to register for the iTunes store so I could get some album artwork for my iPod. In order to register for the iTunes store, I need a credit card. I do not have a credit card. I was wondering if anyone had any old visa giftcards laying around that I could use the number off of. I'm sure doing this isnt illegal, and they wont bill me for anything anyway. If anyone has a better idea I would be up for suggestions too.

good deal, I will look into that mp3tag program. I did manage to find a way around the credit card requirement, but iTunes didnt find very many of my albums.

I cant seem to figure this program out. Could you explain a bit?

Hi buddy, TBH iTunes is only good if you are copying a CD over and it automatically get the cover, but other than that 90% of my covers are from google, I just type the band and album into google and get the image from there that is close to the size 500*500 and then just manually put the album cover in.

Yeah I get all my covers manually, usually from Amazon but also Google, If you buy stuff from the iTunes store sometimes you get super hi res artwork but I dont think that same artwork is automatically applied to an album which you didnt by from the store.

Personally I dont want iTunes to auto get all the artwork for my collection because sometimes its gets the wrong ones or ones which are low res.

And I dont even have a colour iPod!

As for signing up just use a Debit card like or something, if they have such a thing in the US.

OK, thanks guys. I couldnt find a program that I could understand so I started doing it manually. I got to the end of the B's before I called it a night. BTW I was using wikipedia and it seemed to be working pretty good.

I know how you feel, I have just about got to the end of my collection, so far but Ive got about double that again to add :grumpy: lol

Wow, manually doing it would take me aeons.

Try TuneUp. It cleans up all tags (Beatles vs. The Beatles, artist in track name, Track 01 etc) as well as album art. It's free for batches of less than 500 tracks, but above that it's worth the price of admission, especially if you're ripping an expansive record collection or simply have thousands and thousands of tracks from here and there.

Thanks for the offer, I will look into that program as well. As for cleaning up tags, I tend to keep it very clean because I am all sorts of OCD when it comes to things like that. My main problem is, when I put songs into iTunes, I delete everything except the name and artist unless I copy it from a CD, then I leave it alone.

I don't even bother with singles/random songs, I'll only get the album art if it's a complete album.

Same here. 👍
I really don't trust using those tag update software, as I had a really big problem with that thing once (my iPod bricked once and I thought I was done for :() Not sure what iPod your using, but there seems to be a problem updating these tags for the iPod classic 6G. But yeah, I usually just find the artwork using Amazon, Google/blog search or Wikipedia to find my album cover. If worse comes to worse, you might actually have to try and scan your own album cover like I have........ :guilty:
