Yea, so what if this was over a month ago, I haven't been here in over 6 months, so HA!

anyway,

Wait for it....

I GOT A JOB!!!
AHHHH the shocker of the millenium.

I work at a Mobil Station, Pumping gas, Saturday 7AM-12PM Sunday 9AM-5PM
6.50 an hour, off the books.

So far best car for me: SCCA Class SSB(?) Camaro
Volkswagen R32 (Red, I assume the first one sold in the US because I filled it before I even knew what it was. Dual Exaust, sounded extremely good for a VW)
And quite a few Evo 8s.

Best car for my friend/co-worker: Black on Black Ferrari Testarossa, he sat in it, and I dislike him for his luck.

Anyway, yep, I got a job. Yay.
In other news, my computer caught on fire, and Im on a 166Mhz P1 with 32MB RAM, and Win95. Wooo!

Oh, err wow.

I thought it might be something interesting, keeping me on tenderhooks like that.

I mean, that's great.

Wow, a pumpjockey. At least it is a source of income.

Welcome to the real world 👍

I get weird looks from people sometimes when I say "Good Morning" or whatever, because they don't expect me to speak English, it's rather funny.

Oh, and Asians, no matter how **** the car is, they always get Super+. (93 Octaine) Not to be racist or anything of that sort (Blacks usually get 5 or 10$ Regular..)

6.50 an hour? I thought minimum wage was 6.75 an hour? No wonder it's off the books. :dopey:

yea and its 5.00lbs (hah, wow that isnt funny) a gallon there, its $2.00 here :P

All you people and your stupid TVRs and Nobles. I want a Noble

Lbs, har har that took me a bit to work out. Can't you buy racing fuel for that price in America?

It is basicly everywhere but NJ.
Hell, its a job, and I like it, apart from the running around.

I'll give you some advice that I don't follow.

If you want a job, apply EVERYWHERE theres a job.
Don't just say it, do it.

I didn't follow that, and look at me, I'm employed, so if you Do follow it, you could be Bill Gates or whatnot.

it's the end of summer, most stores are looking for employees because most are leaving to go to school, and they'll be understaffed for the back to school sales

I thought it was self service in the States.

So I thought, until a kid asked if he could pump gas when I stopped for fuel in Chattahooche, Florida. I told him that I'd rather do it myself...and that was that. Chattahooche was near the Central Time Zone line, so I imagine there's not much of a mobile population there. Besides, I'd always be an hour late if I worked there.

I can't remember the last time I went to any full-service station, except when the attendant has to pump gas because you have "special needs."

Service stations here are full service. I just chill in the drivers seat and watch as the industrious attendants put in the incorrect amount of fuel (6 times out of 10) and overfill my tyre pressure by horrendous amounts (always). =/

Then you haven't been to my station, where I've only given incorrect amounts twice, to people that I couldn't understand because they spoke Spanglish.

"Gimme Fifee Regolar"
"Fifty?"
"Ya ya Fifee Regolar"
and I put as much as I can, and they go "NO NO, FIFEE!!"

And our tire air machine thing is broken, so you do that crap yourself.

Octane is differently calculated between North America and Europe.

SSB = Showroom Stock B class. Basically a street car on race rubber, with a roll cage. I wouldn't have thought a Camaro would be in SSB, but I'm not a club racer, so I don't know what the current classes are.

And yeah, the People's Republic of New Jersey requires full service, and there must be some kind of price cap on gas, because it isn't any more expensive than neighboring states.

I've never seen one in the U.S., but almost all the gas stations in Thailand are full-service. I don't see what's so hard about self-serve... the only thing is that some gas stations make the octane rating label look like a button, so you try to push it several times, then discover that there's a separate (tiny) button marked "Push" off to the side. So incredibly annoying.

Lucky MF New Jersey min. wage is like $5.25 an hour!!! Anyway, even If I was to work, the way my old man has his disability, If I didn't make so much money (like, $850) a month it'd go right back to the government so I'm like **** it. Anyways, better to pump fumes than nothing! Do you get free fill-ups?

SS2
I've never seen a Full Service gas station in my life.
Come to New Jersey, where it is The Law for a gas station to be full-serv. Why it is, I have no idea. NJ's got some funky laws (like we can't get Geico and Progressive car insurance, for instance).

Thats not a law, its actually the way NJ's crappy "No Fault" law, and the Insurance Companys don't want to pay for everything. Hopefully the Next Gov will change that.

Ah Sage! I can picture you standing next to your car pushing a button that isn't a button.

Oh crap now i'm laughing like darin. *walks away*

I've never seen a full service station before either. Nor have I ever had a job....
