Ive just worked out why thay dont let you use your garage in arcade mode.
you no how in gt mode you have to pay to test your car out. Which by the way is realistic. Well if you could use your cars in arcade mode you would be able to test e'm for free.
So to make it more realistic thay chose to leave the garage out of the arcade mode.

Well, looks like it wasn't a problem. PD did on purpose. That sucks though. I really want to arce 1K of my cars in Arcade mode.

But in Arcade, does it have all the cars? And when we choose the car in arcade mode, does it have like "Racing of Drift" ?

Okay, makes sense. But, then they should have made it so that when there were 2 garages on 2 memory cards detected by the arcade mode, you can use your cars against a human/LAN opponent. I can't imagine it would been much more than an extra line attatched to the 2 player code.

As long as you can pay and test all your cars on all available tracks to that on Arcade mode, I'll be happy.

If fact, I prolly prefer this as its realistic to pay for track time.
👍

Wow to my suprise I think this idea of having to pay to test out the cars is a pretty god idea! BUt then again what can prevent me from testing and then restarting my consle without saving and then just chaning the settings? Oh well I guess there are always some type of perment flaws such as this unless it requires for you to save! I on the other hand will pay and then just save I guess since the other way might be considered cheating. BTW How must do you have to pay?

I'd rather save, test the car, then reset the game and continue, having tested the car yet spent $0.00 credits. :sly:

I think what he's saying is this:

Pay the fee to get onto the track with whatever car you want to test with...
Then, as you test your car, you also fine tune the settings...
Then, once you've found what you want, exit the game but don't save...thereby when the game is loaded again, you'll have the same amount of credits...but you'll also now know what to set a specific car to in regards to settings...the only thing one would have to do in this situation though is to probably write down what each setting is, so when the game is loaded the 2nd time around, you'll be able to remember exactly what each setting is!

Logical idea to do something like this, but I think after awhile, it would become quite tiresome?

Or, have I missed the whole idea in reality(?)

If that was the case, then they should have just not let you adjust settings in Arcade mode, that way you'd still have to pay and setup the car up.

500cr. to drive whatever circuit you want (one they are opened up by you in the game) with whatever car in your garage in GT Mode. Not a big deal and basically free. You can run a "free mode" type deal with unlimited laps and/or tuning...though sadly you have neither tire wear or fuel usage in this mode. You can also race any circuit from the same screen. It costs nothing and you can select the level of your opponents skill, 1-10, 50,000cr is always the prize no matter - again at tiny sum - and this mode has tire wear and fuel usage, though all races seem toi be 2 laps no matter what the circuit.

I haven't really used Arcade mode much, don't really plan on it so I don't know how it works...but there is no where to bring your own cars into it that I have found. Not that I would ever want to since I can do it all in GT Mode. It was always a PITA to go to Arcade/Free run in GT3.

Oh and ther eis no "race" or "drift" choice I have seen in Arcade mode in GT4. Then again I never knew the difference in GT3....

500cr. in the Japanese version, right?

Umm...given it is the ONLY version of the game out (NTSC-J) I think it is a safe bet to assume that.

I'm not aware of the credits being different in any other planned (PAL, NTSC) version. I have no idea why it would be either.

500cr. in the Japanese version, right? Assuming that's also in their fancy pants currency.

GT mode doesn't use any currency...it uses credits. Has it ever differed between version before? 100cr in GT3 was 100cr no matter where the game was from? Right?

well, nothing is better than racing your buddies with your own hand tuned car...*sigh* im gonna miss the good ol days.

-1 point for GT4 on my list.

Maybe he's referring to the bug in GT2 where if you set too many quarter-mile times, the garage clears. As far as I know, no one has encountered any kind of similar bug in GT4.

Hmmm, all these obscure things I've never heard about that I am learning tonight.

I've spent maybe 75% of my Gt4 time running on the 'real circuits" (GT Mode/Free run, as described before) and nothing has disappeared from my garage

Im still angry about this whole Can't-use-garage-in-VS thing....>=[, i mean...at least have that still if not online...of all the things to take out. Sorry for my ranting..-_-;;

In GT4 in GT mode there is a Free Run option that you can go on any course you've unlocked with any car from your garage that you own. There is an option to 'Test Drive' the car around the track for a small sum of credits so that you can fine tune your settings to make your car go that few seconds quicker. This mode is used instead of the GT3 option where you could go into 'Free Run' in Arcade mode and fine tune the settings there...that's all.

Also in GT3 I'm pretty sure the NTSC-J version had considerably higher prices for all the cars, parts etc. therefore representing the Yen currency kind of.
