Bloody hell. Ive had Project Cars 1 for ages but not played it due to bad handling. Just gone back in and swapped controller settings to what I use in PC2 and guess what? I can drive ok. Just took a Merc AMG GT3 round Imola and it felt great. Feel daft now cos I've had it before I got Forza 7. D'oh.
Your not alone. I bought PC1 GOTY edition on an Xbox sale about six months ago for less than a tenner, struggled with it hotlapping on a controller & then just put it down. I picked it up again yesterday, used some settings that @Wolfe shared & adjusted them slightly to my liking after driving round & round Imola in the Escort RS1600 until I was happy. Then I started my career in the Clio touring car, I couldn't drive it at first but importantly I knew it wasn't the controller settings so I used the PC car setup database & made some changes & I've just finished my first championship. I've had so much fun, difficulty between 70-80%, the racing with the AI has been fair & I've had some pretty intense battles that has sometimes gone on for a number of corners, they certainly fight for position. After thinking that I could never play it without buying a wheel, I'm now really liking the game & itching to start my next championship. It's funny because I've also just got to grips with AC on controller, two games that I thought I'd have to miss out on but thanks to the wonderful people on this forum I'm now able to enjoy them.
I've had It for many years as well. When I got It' was on DS4 pad so was disappointed, so delated it to make room for other titles. So got wheel, then got Pcars2 and loved it. So I decided to reload It yesterday, really enjoying this title now!
Yeah, got the wheel and within a few days had beaten my best controller times. I do Pcars2 league racing now and ACC league racing. And PCars 1 on the wheel is great
