Jaguar S-Type R '02 here

So as the title says, I have just made my very first tune and it just so happens I did it using the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo '00 as I couldn't find one here after a quick search :nervous: I made this tune while running the British Lightweight seasonal grinding some CR on Nurburg...

It works for me, but may not work for you but nonetheless I am looking for feedback. The thread 'tuning from scratch' helped a lot, but no doubt I can do with more practice :)

Edit: Forgot to mention, tuning the transmission in this thing is difficult to say the least. Change from 4th to 5th is just silly no matter what you do.

Must be a tough crowd here I listed a tune earlier and no responses for me yet either. I have a VX220-turbo in my garage so I'll give your tune a try and give my feedback on it. Also how do you get the Tunes sign to show up on the thread title ?

Welcome to the ranks of tuners both of you.

I'm fairly new here myself and just found out how to get the tunes flag to show on your thread.
Edit the first post and select the advanced edit button.
Up at the top above your text entry and thread title boxes should be a button you can click that gives the option to mark the thread as either tunes or requests.
Hope this helps and if I ever have some time that I'm not jumping through hoops with this FF contest I'll give your tunes a test. Of course I'm a terrible driver so don't expect me to break any world records or anything with them.

As Harvey Wallbanger (my on track driving alter ego) always says...
Drive hard and have fun!:cheers::gtpflag:

Thanks! Any feedback is good feedback :)

All good, the tune works for me and I am not anywhere near being a GT:A type either 👍

I can probably squeeze a short session in, to give you a general idea, I'm fairly tied up lately, but a single run down the nurb tells me most everything I need to know.
If you don't hear from me tomorrow PM me so I don't forget.

Cheers, I just bought one of these, as in my little group we have a class of car called "class B". 266bhp 1100kgs. I think this car will be quite competitive, so will give your tune a go later. Thanks

I'll try it out. If I like it, would you possibly be interested in helping out my tune shop? I'm looking for people to help me out.

Here is a quick review of your tune. I took it to deep forest first and removed the FC susp., trans. and lsd. I set the aero to 15 and 5/5 brake balance so I had a reference point to work from. With these settings the car was obviously hard to drive but I managed a 1:18.891 lap. Then I added your settings my lap time was a 1:17.534 a big improvement. The tune worked well.
For me I would adj. the brake balance the front locked a little too easily. Tighten up the gear ratios to keep the engine higher in the revs after each shift. I found the handling was a little tight overall as bumps and rumble strips caused the car to kick.
These things are just personal preference for me and not a knock on your tune at all.
Overall the tune does a whole lot of things right and I was up to speed whithin my first couple laps. I almost forgot to mention my lap around the Nurburg.. seasonal which was easy to win with your settings. hope this helps.

Thanks 👍 I will take your mentions re: brakes, etc. and retune it over the coming weekend and see how it feels.
I love how you give it an oil change then an engine rebuild. haha
Yeah, I made a boo-boo there... It reminds me of when I fully tuned the ZR1 and then RM modded it! I do some dumb stuff at times :(

I look forward to your feedback :)

Going to run this now...

Pretty good, easy to drive at 9/10ths at least, a bit conservative if anything, minor under-steer.
Managed a 7:19.004 on my second race in the British cup, S3 tires. Can't imagine RS tires, it gripped plenty with just S3's on it.

Thanks CSLACR :)

I think I might try my hand at another tune this week and see how I go. I will try to do something that hasn't been done as yet (if such a beast exists). Any suggestions from anyone? I don't want it to seem like I have just modified someone elses tune hence why I did the VX220-T to start with.

Haha, very unique and something I have never even driven. Will take a look during the week.

Nice tune it works for me too , just doing as you were grinding Nurburgring on my wifes account testing different British cars .. Came across this car in the UCD then found your tune .. Thank you for this.

How about one for a "S" Type Jaguar as there does not appear to be one for that car .. Fully modded and for Nurburgring grinding Seasonal Events too ?? I would like that if possible and if i am not being too cheeky in asking.

How about one of the 1990's subaru imprezas with no wing, i have seen two tunes for it but one has a wing and the other is for a stock scooby.

Awesome tune. Ive been trying to get this car drivable for a while now to no avail. After testing i did change the top speed to 300 camber extension to 5/5 and brake balance to 7/5though and it works great.

Thanks guys. I have updated original tune with refined transmission settings after you reminded me this thread was here.

I will look at the requested car tunes starting with the S-Type but understandably it won't be able to meet requirement for Brit Lightweight Seasonal.

EDIT: It will be able to do some other seasonals though, 665 BHP & 1358kg without the engine being broken-in.

This tune is amazing, at least the suspension/lsd is... Now I love this car. Only did some changes to keep it at 470pp. I didn't install intake/exhaust/turbo-parts, I changed the brake balance to 7/5, and the gears I would do like this:
1st reset to default.
2nd set final gear to 5.500
3rd set max speed to 180 km/h
4th set 1st gear to 2.346
5th set 2nd gear to 1.793
6th set 3rd gear to 1.438
7th set 4th gear to 1.136
8th set 5th gear to 0.947
9th adjust the final gear to each course

When your engine breaks in adjust the power limiter to keep the car at 470pp
