Jaguar XJ220 headlights

I don't know if someone posted this before, or if some have seen this, but for anyone who's been always wondering how the headlights work in a Jaguar XJ220, here it is.



I know this sounds kind of dumb, but I'm really excited I finally figured it out. It took me 20 year of my life, full of speculation and research that lead nowhere. My theories of how they worked were completely far off. Now I can die in peace.

Add the Quantum Saloon and Vector W8 to the list of cars with drop-down headlight flaps.
 
Seeing the car in motion, it got me thinking what if they started a continuation program, giving it a more modern set of wheels and updating the headlights and rear lights to current standards. Think a photoshop is in order.

The covers drop down!... i had to watch it twice... you blink and you miss it. Lol...

Same thing here :lol: the first time I saw it I was like "wait for it... wait for it..." expecting the thing to flip around or do something crazy like the C4 Corvette lights, but then I blinked and the light were on already. I never expected the covers just to drop down in like a second. Very simple, yet pretty neat.
 
I can honestly say I was never interested, and yet I am glad I know now, because it turned out to be a lot more interesting than I was expecting when I hit play.
