I'm currently considering buying one of these XK's and i want the opinions of those who have these two cars. I'm looking for one that reponds well to modifications, is relatively easy to drive, has a good power to weight ratio when weight is reduced, the v8 sounds mean and thoaty with new mufflers, and can hold its own against supercars. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Th 2010 model is the supercharged XKR. It has the far more powerful engine, and with even minor upgrades handles like a dream, looks great and sounds wonderful. It responds well to upgrades, the supercharger upgrade for example is dirt cheap and increases power everywhere. Take some weight off and it'll become a bit more nimble.

It's good for drifting because of the torque and the longish wheelbase, it isn't as touchy as the 599 and it can still be really fast.

The only thing I'd reccomend is paingint it a good green. The dark metalic green it comes in is kinda bad, a nice brittish racing green works well as does a buttercup yellow.

So right away the mods for power will be ten times better for the '10. What about weight? This kne is about 200 pounds heavier than the other but i suppose the power compensates for that and then weight decreasing mods will help further. I'm just trying to see the long term benefits of choosing this car over the smaller lighter XK.

The `10 has the new 5.0L supercharged engine and the `07 has the older 4.2L supercharged engine.

My '10 is tuned to 742bhp at 1479kg.

It's still nowhere near as quick as my other 700+bhp cars in a straighline.

It looks good (lowered, black on black wheels) but I don't drive it.
