I have a question about the Japan Touring cars (not JGTC cars). In the game, there are a few cars labeled 'Touring Car' such as the Subaru, Mazda, and the RSX. Are these cars real? I like them and wish there was a race just for them. We have races for the JGTC (500) and they have JGTC 300 cars but no race for the 'Touring Cars'.

And, is there a difference between the 'Touring' cars and the Japanese LM cars (Subaru, Altezza, RX-7, RX-8, etc)? I'm asking because the European 'Touring Cars' are all labeled as such and look like thay all could run the DTM. The DTM cars are called 'Touring Car', i.e. CLK, TT, (the other Audi), BMW, Opel, Astra, etc.....

Are the Japanese 'Touring' cars, just mislabeled JGTC cars or do they run on their own circuit? I tried google and could not find any info on the 'Subaru Super Touring Car '01'. I did not look for the others.

If you could help me with some info or point me in the right direction (web), it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance 👍

The cars you are talking about are just fantasy cars, they aren't real. I assume you mean the RX-8 LM Touring car, Subaru Impreza LM Touring Car, S2000 LM Touring Car etc etc.

The majority of the European touring cars are DTM cars, this included the Alfa 155 Touring Car which despite not being German, ran in DTM from 93-96. The exceptions are the BMW 330i Touring Car which ran in the ETCC/WTCC and the BMW M3 Race car which ran in the ALMS series IIRC.

The majority of the Supras, ASL Garaiya, NSXs, Cusco Impreza and Skylines ran in the JGTC. The Falken Skyline raced at last years Nurb 24hrs. The Calsonic R32 Skyline is a Group A car which pre-dates JGTC and JTCC.

Hope that clears some things up.

Those are exactly the cars I was talking about. I guess I'll have to check them for I would love to run them in the JGTC since I like those better than most of those JGTC cars. I'm looking for a fair race so I don't want an extreme weight advantage.

I know most of the games' JGTC cars have about the same HP and weight......

Maybe they(PD) will include some kind of LM Championship in GT5!

of and btw, thanks!

The JGTC and DTM series base their entry list on the cars that have actually raced in the real-life JGTC and DTM series. So although Japanese the fantasy touring cars wouldn't be eligable because they aren't real.

OK, understood. I haven't played the JGTC Champsionship yet, so that is good to know.
Would you happen to know if I ran a 'Family Cup' would the competition would be similar or just cars with 'x' power close to what I enter with?

I think that if you ran a fantasy touring car in a family cup it might give you a mixed field, maybe consisting of other fantasy lm's, but also maybe some JGTCs and some lower-powered Le Mans cars such as the McLaren F1 and Corvette C5R possibly. But there's a chance you could get 5 fantasy lm competitors.

I guess I'll have to try that....thanks for your help

Any car the AI uses in the JGTC will be easy to win, using the same cars (i.e. Supra, 350Z, RX-7, NSX, etc.)

I used this from the tuning car village,

with ~350hp stock, no oil change and the turbo upgrade (puts it around 420hp).

I won every race, but it took some adjusting and the races were close.

so... the guys in the picture there... are they rebel pilots from starwars?
sure look like it!

there used to be a series in japan called jtcc (much like btcc). gt1 had a few of these cars from racing body modifications (mugen livery accord, toyota corona exiv, jaccs civic and chaser too). not sure if the serioes still exists. try googling "jtcc" for images 👍

Hiya jimihemmy: 👍
Check out the DREAM CAR CHAMPIONSHIP in EXTREME HALL. You may have to cycle thru a coupla times to get an all "Touring Car" line up. Do NOT add any HP or it'll be a "Blow Out" for sure. I just ran it with a JGTC 300 ride (Write-up in that Forum) & it was a GREAT Series! 👍 Good Luck...O.G. :D

:)

Aww man...It was so hard to get that shot. I didin't notice they were even in it until I had cycled thru nearly all of the camera angles. Even then, the lens was fighting me because I had to force the angle...basically had to hold it in position then shoot. I think it turned out pretty cool. They look like they should be drinking a coffee, not working a corner.
