Japanese version, how do I initiate update? HELP!

I have the Japanese version of Prologue, but it doesn't automatically ask to update to spec II..... Is there any way of directing it to check for updates?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I have searched but couldn't find anything..

yup, make sure your PS3 is connected to the internet, and you can manually initiate the update by selecting "News" or "GT:TV" from the main menu. Cos you wont be able to access them till you update, so when you select them it will ask you to update.
 
I've tried clicking on GT-TV and also NEWS, but it still doesn't ask to update....(definitely is on the internet, bcoz I updated the system just before)... it just accesses the news and tv thing....

Strange... maybe I should reinstall the game?
 
No the game isn't shared... I bought the playstation couple weeks ago with GT5 (Japanese)... I did the PS3 system update after installing the game...

So far it hasn't asked to do any update including 25 december update....

Any ideas?
 
Hi Silk777, did you login PSN with an Japanese region ID? Don't know if that's the problem, but I always use my Japanese ID when playing GT5P JPN version ...hope it works for you.
 
I'm having the same problem here as its not updating, however I am using the Hong Kong version. Any idea if update is available for this version yet?

I'm still waiting for the HK version to have the update, no official announcement has been made so far. I'll let you know if there's any news. (btw, I can read Chinese so it's easier for me to read the news... :) )
 
bro mind to list what it says on the spec page before the start of each race?

Transmission: AT or MT
...

I don't understand what are those options in the middle, only know that theres an option for on/off for each of those :indiff:

Where did you read that there is an update for the "Asia" version? or you just assume there is an update?

I have the HK/Asian version. I guess all of us that have this particular version "assume" that PD will give us an update as well because, same with all JP/UK version owners, we all paid good money for our copy of GT5P.

However, as of the moment, still no official news if we are indeed getting upgraded to Spec II.. :grumpy:

ok, no problem, let me go check it and do the translation... maybe i should do it in a new thread? Is a new thread needed? I think if more people who own a HK/Asia version need help translating, I'll just do it in a new thread.
 
Ah, so this is why i am unable to update, i have the HK version of GT5:P. Is there a way i can download any other versions the same way i did with the HK version? (fill out fake information about living in their area)

Is there an english version i can do this with or is there only non english SPECII's out?

I am waiting for the Spec II updated for the Hong Kong version too. It's driving me crazy. What the hell is taking so long? And why no announcement from Polyphony Digital?
