Ferrari have named Amedeo Felisa as the Formula One team's chief executive after the resignation of Jean Todt.

Todt, 62, who was a key figure in turning the Italian team into one of F1's most successful teams, will stay on in a senior executive role.
This is a surprise. I know the Aussie GP went wrong for Ferrari but surely that wasn't the reason? Surely if Todt had meant to resign he would have done it before the season started. Well, how will things go now for Ferrari?

I heard (maybe wrongly) on ITV F1 commentary when watching the GP that he had moved to be in charge of the road car side of Ferrari as part of a management shuffle...

Slackbladder is correct, I don't know what it means. It's been said Ferrari are returning to their Italian 'roots'. Perhaps Todt might make a move for STR? My own wishful thinking...

He was appointed CEO in 06. He was still at the scuderia as team principal in 07. He just left for the 08 season.

People have always speculated his departure from the F1 team after Michael's retirement, but why leave Ferrari's road car division?
