holy god will this guy ever stop? im sure everyone has heard of him by now. if not:

http://www.jeopardy.com/

he's played 33 games and won 1.1 million dollars and is still going. this guy is a genious. and when it looks like someone will challenge him he seems to play better. so when will it end?

I think they should bring back the limitations to the game. This is just flippin stupid now

He's actually Famine, says some. He lokos like a n3rd, though.

I watched him today. How does he know so ******* much? He's gotta be cheatin. Like a headphone in his head or sometin. Someone's relaying the answers to him.

But the publicity! Before this, Jeopardy was just regarded as an old game show that a few nerdy people watched... but because of this, they're getting higher ratings and much more publicity. It's a win-win situation for them.

Yeah.....except their losing millions of dollars to this guy.

what ever gets good ratings right? but its stupid if they are going for ratings because they will lose so much money to him.

TriplePlay
Yeah.....except their losing millions of dollars to this guy.

...he's only won just over $1,050,000 or so roughly. Where do you see them losing millions on this guy, especially compared to how much they'll gain from added advertising and sponsership and awareness?

Besides, this is a TV NETWORK. Do any of you think ABC is making huge loses with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Indeed.

Celador, the company behind WWTBAM?, now lose on average £3 million per series of the programme in the UK, although they made substantial profits in the first two series.

TriplePlay
Yeah.....except their losing millions of dollars to this guy.

The359 made some good comments to combat this stupidity, but he forgot the most obvious one of all:

EVERY DAY ON JEOPARDY SOMEONE IS PAID. It doesn't matter if that person is Famine Jennings or someone else; every day someone wins and every day they pay him. So though Famine Jennings has won $1,050,000, if he hadn't won the money it simply would have been other people each day. Duh?

Yeah, but not everybody is winning 50 grand a day. The normal pay-off is around 10-12 grand at best for someone else, this guy has that at the end of round one. Not counting the daily doubles.

Its just really crazy. It'll be bound to happen tho, the day will come when he gets beat. Just a matter of time.

This guy is insane when it comes to Jeopardy. How he knows so much I will never comprehend (he's probably Famine's cousin or something like that; maybe his long-lost twin...).

TriplePlay

So that means the jeopardy people only need to pay about 20-40k more each episode. Compare those losses with the massive growth of viewership that the show has recieved because of Ken. I think both Jeopardy and Ken are making a substantial profit here.

And I heard about a week ago that he has already lost since they tape the shows in advance. Naturally, they didn't say when he lost for obvious reasons.

He's only averaging about $31,000 a day.

And yes, the shows were taped in February, and he did in fact lose eventually, but they wont say when or how much he got at the end.

I heard he lost in the $1.4m mark. Consider that unconfirmed. How could all the audience members not reveal it?

They probably get paid by jeopardy NOT to say when he lost. Not bad IMO....
