Interview with Jet Li

Do you think you could ever make a movie with Jackie Chan?

We talked about it seven years ago when we were in Hong Kong but no studio supported us. No studio supported us to make that film. I think last year we had dinner, we still talked about it. When is the right time to make that film? My fans say Jet Li can beat Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan's fans say, "Oh, Jackie will beat Jet Li." Jackie is a friend of mine. We just do our job. He does his, I do mine. I think an audience knows what's Jet Li's style for the action sequences and what is Jackie Chan's style. In Asia, it's crystal clear. This is a Jet Li film, this is a Jackie Chan film where it's comedy action.

This interview was before the release of Jackie Chan's The Medalion. When i went to see the Medalion at the movies at the end it had an interview with jackie Chan they ask him about Jet Li. He said its very well going to happen that you will see him and Jet Li together in a movie around 2005. It saids the scripts are already written but the flimming has yet to start.

I dont know if its true but im hoping.

Oh yeah... I was looking on the interent and i found this interesting conv. with Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Sammo Hung (7/15/2000). Its funny you should check it out.

 Yeah that would be nice, because if they fight each other you know who would lose *cough* Jackie Chan *cough*

That depends on your definition of "fight." If it were real, I have no doubt that Jet Li would win, but if it were on film, it would most definitely be Jackie Chan.

Chan has been ingrained into the Hong Kong film industry so long, he's built up lots of clout and financial backing. It could end up being a battle of egos with the winner being the one who has the most influence on the industry.

Very true... i definately agree.

I suspect it's more likely that no clear winner would be shown in a fight, but Jackie's clout would be enough to make the film a slapstick comedy. Li would be the quiet serious type while Chan is the partier of the duo.

Yes I'd predict a stalemate between the two. It's better if both of these mega popular Hong Kong icons just duke it out and have a neutral battle with no clear winner or else we'd never hear the end of how much better Jackie Chan is over Jet Li or vica versa.

They should have a really extreme fight scene that will go down in movie history, and can have the mick taken out of it for decades to come.

Good idea 👍

Alot of people like Jackie Chan more, hes bigger in teh state then Jet Li. Hes more of the funny type while Jet Li is more of serious killer type

 Either way, i would love to see a Jackie Chan/Jet Li flick. Both are great actors/fighters. They both came from different worlds, Jackie Chan's parents were rich, he was send to school and etc. Jet Li wasnt as lucky as Jackie. Just alittle info.

Im sure if they did team up, it would either be Jet Li vs Jackie Chan, or they both team up together. Im sure if it was a Jet Li vs Jackie Chan flick the clear winner would be Jackie Chan because he is known more around the world. In a real fight it would not be a contest at all. Jackie Chan is too old. He must be in his 50s.

I wish Bruce Lee was alive and the same age as these two. I think he could take either. I still love his movies.

I think jackie will retire :(. It will be replace by Chat Yon Fat. He's no good for jackie chan and jet li. I love Drunken Master 2, and Fist Of Legend( my one of best movie of jet li).

I think when it comes to martial arts, it all comes down to age. The older, the more you know and better fighter youll become. hence, jackie chan>jet li

:D
