Is there any difference between all of the JGTC cars, outside of pure aesthetics? Does any particular year or model run better?

In other words, is an 08 skyline identical to a 06 skyline, 08 Lexus, and 08 NSX? Or do any of them run better?

They are all similiar in terms of performance for the year they were built, so the '08 cars are alike etc, but there are differences between the newer cars and the older cars.

In the used car dealership, the older 2001 cars have 450bhp roughly, but they tend to weigh a tiny bit less - about 1080kgs, where as the newer '08 cars, in the new dealership, have nearer 500bhp but weigh 1100-1150kgs.

The NSX is slightly different because it is mid engined whereas the Lexus SC430, Toyota Supra and Nissan R35gtr / R34GTR / 350Z are all front engined.

Alot of it would be setup as well, a good setup might be 2 secs a lap quicker than a bad setup, so having the fastest or best car is about of the same importance as having a good setup.

It's hard to go wrong with any of these ars though, it's pretty much what do you like the look of. Each car in the game has a descripton, if you read the decription it'll give you more specific details than I can (!).

Also, there are two different classes of cars, the cars mentioned above all race in the GT500 class, but there is also the GT300 class and there are about 6/7 (can't remember exactly) cars in the game for that aswell. The main difference is power, GT500 = roughly 450-500bhp and the GT300 = 300bhp. There's a thread for the GT300 cars, just search for that and the cars will be listed there.

👍

some cars from GT300

Wedsport Celica S
Amemiya RX7 P
Cusco Impreza P
Wedsport Lexus IS350 P
Autobacs Garayia P
C West Nissan Silvia S15 S

Theres quite a few more standard GT300 cars but you have to keep a close eye out for them as they dont come up too often.

:)

I was reading the descriptions of the super gt NSX's last night. The 08 NSX has the same power and torque as the 06's but is 50 kilograms heavier due to the fact that the NSX dominated so much in the 06-07 season, officials made all NSX teams add weight to make the races a little more fair in the 08 season. The upside though is the 08 is more aerodynamic and handles better.

The JGTC—established in 1993[1][2] by the JAF (Japanese Automobile Federation) via its subsidiary company the GT-A (GT Association)—replaced the defunct All Japan Sports Prototype Championship for Group C cars (that was terminated by the end of 1994) and in the same year Japanese Touring Car Championship for Group A touring cars, which would adopt the supertouring formula which was used worldwide. Seeking to prevent the spiraling budgets and one-team/make domination of both series, JGTC imposed strict limits on power, and heavy weight penalties on race winners in an openly-stated objective to keep on-track action close with an emphasis on keeping the race goers happy.

In its first ever race, which was also an IMSA GT exhibition race, apart from the GTS and GTU cars from the U.S. series, as with the rest of the season, the grid consisted of mostly Japan Sport Sedan cars with the only genuine JGTC cars being two Nissan Skyline GT-Rs entered by NISMO, which were in fact modified Group A cars. The prototypes and European GT cars would only appear one race to be joined by the IMSA and Group N cars at the Suzuka 1000 km.

For the following season, the series would undergo a rules overhaul, class 1 for cars similar to that of the FIA's GT1 category and class 2 for cars that were the equivalent to the GT2 category. The JSS series would altogether dissolve into the latter category. What made the series more significant was compared to the series from other countries, JGTC teams had at the time the freedom to enter whichever cars they preferred, even if it was the JSS cars from the inaugural season and IMSA GTS spaceframe racers. The Group C prototypes, whilst easily showing dominant form, were banished at the end of the 1994 season.

By the end of the season, as the cost of attaining a FIA's GT1 cars shot through the roof dramatically, in order to keep costs down and determined not to go the same way as the JSPC series it replaced, the GT-A would go through another rules overhaul. This time was a change adoption of the newly formed GT500 and GT300 regulation which capped cars depending on weight and brake horsepower with an air restrictor. In 2002, the GT-A made another rule change, this time because the series had been intended to be a GT championship; this meant all competing cars must remain as two doors, while a special waiver was given to allow Cusco Racing to race their Subaru Impreza sedan.

The JGTC would first venture abroad with its first oversea race at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia and after another successive year, the Malaysian race would become a regular championship fixture. After GT-A's abortive attempt at hosting a street race in Shanghai, the series would also venture into the United States with an exhibition race to be run with the D1 Grand Prix exhibition event in the Los Angeles area-California Speedway in Fontana, held during the week before Christmas in December 2004, which was not shown to be a success, since then no exhibition event was held until in 2010 season, which will be held in Fuji Speedway.

if you are looking to do the seasonal event easily, get the diablo. The lambo can be tuned to 800+ hp and you can pass all the cars by the end of the third lap

Without tuning or changing settings, the cars are relatively equal. There are small differences in weight but more or less its the driver. I too used the diablo because I already owned one and tuned it as well. It was an easy 1.5 million to win.

I used my 1000 km ticket to get a nissan gtr woodone super gt car.

I say, the only upgrade i did was the stability bar. I used the car in the extreme super gt series.

It is more fun racing the AI cars, especially the NSX without any hp/ps upgrade. These cars are faster on the straights but i usually gain ground on the corners.

wish I'd have known about the dup ticket thingy.. got screwed on my 1000 ticket.. got a dodge viper.. and not the RM/team x kind either :grumpy:
