Well done to all those that submitted times, this is one fun series!
I managed to scrape a single point out of this so I'm very happy :lol:
As for tyre wear, might have managed 13 laps , but would have been getting very red on the fronts. I stopped L12 & L24 for Hards/Mediums seemed to be the only option for me.

Very interesting race, tire strategy was very important. I just barely managed to get a two stop strategy to work, although my fronts were glowing red by the time I pitted. If anyone is wondering, I pitted in on laps 12 and 25, using hard tires the whole way. Very good race, and I'm thrilled to get a podium, especially on a difficult track like Fuji! Congrats to all the drivers who submitted.
 
Man, my car must have a diet of rubber! I pitted on laps 11, 22, and 32. I pitted a lap early for the last one because I knew I could get three (and only three) strong laps from the super-soft tires (hence the fastest lap). It's amazing that a human player could get 16 laps out of the Celica! I ran this race once with B-Spec for fun, and it pitted on lap 14 with the front left glowing orange. And it was also running 1'44's :ouch:. And got lapped by the Delta S4 :ouch::ouch:.

Actually Rob's full strategy was :

Pitting :

(Started on RH)
Lap 14: RS tires
Lap 19: RH Tires,fuel


and I used this :

(Started on RM-RS)
Lap 7 : RM-RS
Lap 14 : RM-RS
Lap 21 : RM-RS
Lap 28 : RM-RS

lol I rule! 7 laps on medium tires :p
 
There's no way I could have got RH tires to last 16 laps with the ASL Garaiya ... and I tried. Heck, I shot for just 15, but by lap 14 they were SHOT and I was losing 10 seconds a lap. That's why I switched to stopping on laps 12 and 24 (although I ended up coming in early for the second stop; head up my own ass :p)

16 laps? Not a chance in hell.
 
so true - i run the same car and 12 laps is the max, tried using them in my first run (tire test) car pushes way to much and have to let off to keep it on the track, also the tires are smoking red hot after 12 laps. How he got 14-16 laps and kept his time up?????????? Would love to see his vid to see where and how i lost so much time. :yuck:
 
Rob it's time to pop out now :) I don't want to make the drivers + teams standing then to realize there was a mistake like the MR8 incident. :D
 
He moved house over the weekend and his PS2 has been off since he handed in his time to you (saturday?). Not sure when he's due back.
 
Yeah he said in his race submission PM that he wouldn't be online before late Sunday, maybe it's taking more time than expected.

He also said this : "I'm hating this time, I didn't get to do any tire test or anything, but at least I made a run at it."

not that hard to do :sick: + just looked at something else too, he's a mid D3 driver. prob. did the +20/-10 thingy by mistake, oops. :yuck:

Very very good supposition 👍 Because to me it's close to impossible running 16 laps without loosing huge ass time in atleast the last two laps, that's if it's on "STRONG".
 
Yeah, but you're forgetting that Rob was running really fast in the Qualifier, too ... he was like over a second faster than everyone else. I don't think he picked the wrong tire wear, I think he was just blisteringly fast (and I really do want to see the ghost, because I clearly don't know how to drive certain parts of this track!!!)

I guess it's good I got a new PS2! I'll be back for Route 246.
 
I will say, since we can not do much until Rob comes back. Once Rob can answer, he will. He is a very respectable driver, and if he made a mistake will for sure own up to it.

But I also agree with Nat as he did blow us all away on that Qual run, like he through 1 ton bricks on all our cars...

but normally don't you use more of your tires if you run faster?

Heck you all run faster than I do, and I tear my tires UP. Alot depends I think on how well you run. If you know how to turn correctly in the corners, faster most times means ya not sliding and "squealing" either right?

/shrug what do I know, I have Kitten Pwer running my Honda :sly:
