Thanks for the HP bump(that'll work great for this track and the 'Ring :sly:)! Now I guess I'll have to get an even larger hold on the understeer and tire wear. Hopefully it all works out! 👍

Ugh, gotta learn this track too. Still haven't figured it out! :)

Love this track .. super smooth and Del will be looking to make up for missing R1 qualifying .

Definitely noticing a difference with the extra HP on the NSX.

Had a couple of runs just before, majority of the laps were sketchy so there's a lot of room left for improvement. Current fast lap at 1'21.9xx.

I'm not sure if adding more power to the NSX is going to solve the problem, in fact it just may increase the understeer and make the tire wear worse, which is one of the only advantages to driving the NSX. Of course you can't go ahead and reduce the power of (or add weight to) the rest of the field but this should have been checked more in pre-season testing.

However thats not a knock at all in fact I'm very pleased to see some improvements being done to try and even out the field. Good Job.

Also are those weight penalties applied to this race or what? I'm still kind of confused on how that works since I haven't heard anything about that.

Brian

I agree, but yeah, there's no better way to do it. The cars just aren't all equal, and there's no real fair way to do it.

There are no weight penalties/handicaps in effect for the qualifier race, only hp penalties.

You know the old saying...

Power is nothing without control :scared:

I hope I can keep the car in control for this second round at Fuji '90's.

Power is nothing without control :scared:

Very true.

Ran the combo 2 more times earlier on today and knocked a few more seconds off my total time. Fastest lap now at 1'21.3xx, probably be able to break into the 20's with a bit more practise. And as usual I need to work on consistency...In my current fastest run I have a lap well over 2 seconds slower that my best :scared:

Can't, it's more or less driver skills dependent. hotboi was using it and still winning with less hp than it's at now. I can't know in advance the field that will be using X and Y car.

And side note. Yes the weight penalty is always dropped for qualif. Only the air restrictor stays in effect. Always running at default weight.

For R2 race you'll see the weight penalty system take place.

New driver for R2, returning ICallShotgun in the RX-7 LM. :)

Racing news, Penguin Racing Team might get flushed if no participation improvement in the next sessions.

Time sent to eats.
Can't break the time limit what I want, but it can't be better either.
No penalties,no spins, nothing at all.Consistent and hopefully fast enough.
I was leading the race from the second turn after the start.:sly:
See a few times 1'20.2xx...

Right, I'm more or less settled now, but no DFP yet. I'll have to run qualy with the DS2 this weekend and try to organize my wheel before race submission.

Much better than what I'm running...:boggled: But I am working hard to do better.;)

Have a good lineup of AI's so that after passing 4 of them I catch the leader going into the S/F straight which gives me lap 2 as my fastest so far 1'21.529.Don't know how that stacks up, but getting into the 21's is not common for me. Just ran this track awhile back in the LPM series...in the same car, my beloved RX7, didn't care for it when I started that race but now I love the flow of it. Exit speed on 3 critical turns is most important here.

After about 35 laps of practice yesterday I've gotten I'd say 3/4's of the track down pretty well with a current best lap of 1'21.011. Do have a banker lined up but it was pretty sloppy. Gonna give here another go today.

Brian

Well this IS a horsepower track, and as you would expect, I am suffering with my air-restrictor penalty.

Fastest I have so far is a 1'21.8xx with a draft, averaging 1'22.1-1'22.5 as a fastest lap without a draft.
(better Kyle?)
Wasn't stating that, that, was my average lap-time. It is the average 'best lap' in the 7 or 8 races I have done.

Neil

Neil, I don't know if this classifies or not, but we're only supposed to talk about single fastest laps...?

As per Eat's in the part of the "rules" :D

Still haven't been able to equal my partner- GTX - in fast lap, only a 1:21.3 :grumpy: Just can't seem to break into the 1:20's ... but then again, he is a quick little bugger

I'm still a little inconsistant with the laps, well, with the car :ouch: I'm better suited for the Ford Spec II I'm running in LMS it seems. I still have some time to shave off, maybe tomorrow, as today is my friends wedding :scared: silly nit ! and I'm the best man.... what does that tell you about his circle of friends

Guys!
As I say in my edit of the post in question.

I wasn't divulging my 'average lap-time' throughout the whole race, I was saying that I was averaging 1'22.1-1'22.5 as a fastest lap, in the races I have ran.

No way would I discuss my average lap-time, you would all know how slow I was going then, wouldn't ya?

Mind you, if my fastest laps are this far down on the rest of you?....................God help me!:nervous:

Neil

Neil, those are definately good times around here, especially w/ an air restrictor.

My first outing in my brand new RX7 LM was ... exhilerating! Wow, that thing moves much faster down the straights than my M3 from LMS.

My Q time has been sent to EV4L. best lap was a 121.2xx. There is probably about 2-3 seconds left in the race, but i just can't string together 9 laps. Interesting format for this season, not too sure if i'll like it...guess i'll see where i end up.

c

Raced this again earlier on, after a few re-tries I finally ran a faster time. Fast lap was only a 21.8xx but my other laps were all fairly consistent, so I was able to knock off another 1.5 seconds from the total time.

I can probably see another 2 seconds coming off my fastest time, but I'm not sure if I am going to have enough time to run it again (fairly hot days in Aus for the next couple of days, so most of my free time will be spent down at the beach)

Ran it again and knocked off a good 11 seconds off my race time. I was much more consistant this time and I broke into the 20's a couple times... fastest lap so far is a 1'20.3xx but it wasn't in a worthy race.

Brian

Looks like I got a lot of work to do with knocking my times down to a more competitive level for this round. ^^; I got some housework to do today and I'll be hard pressed to get another race in before I Have to send my times.

Back to the DS2 this week :( Not my best showing as usual, but my time is in. Gotta try and find a wheel someplace around here before race submission...

Good luck all 👍

Times sent in to Eats!

Maxdrive disk will not load, so it is by PM.:grumpy:
Managed to get a fastest lap of 1'21.8xx without a draft, on lap 7!

Neil

Times submitted. Didn't have much time this week, been messing with the '34 Chevy all week and weekend. Gonna have an antique specialist go over the complete fuel system, but I think the Carter 1 barrel is gunked up.Has a 207CI, 60 HP. 0 to 40 in 22 seconds....scary fast!!!!

Time sent...again not very quick compared to my partner...sigh
But I did hit the time time I told him I thought I could get to :)
It's just me and the Supra, trying to get this lady to dace :(
Love the new toy Andy ! very sweet :)
