JGTC S4 Round 2 Race + Results

Kyle,I hope you DID NOT TURN AROUND ang go BACKWARDS on the track...
That's totally crazy.
The car is not so bad at all...Last season I used the Garaiya,it was totally the same. When I felt that I can drive the car on 100%...well,that was about halfway to the end of the championship.

Time in. I managed what felt like a pretty solid run even without my wheel, and a solid fastest lap in the low 1'20s (with a bit of help from the other Z on track :) ). 2-stopper on RMs. I think I may have controlled the damage for myself in the points race...

Good luck all 👍

time sent
am pretty happy with the result, as I shaved about 12 seconds off the first run :) .... ran a pretty consistant race, all within .4, save for the fast lap, which wasn't really fast compared to the some that have posted... 1:20.9xx, but the rest were within tenths of that lap :)

Kyle -
I just took your car, at race hp/weight, out for a race.
I got 15 laps on RM/RM 's !!!!
I finished with a competitive time...when they come up I'll post my time in your car.

Your car is much better than the Ford GT spec II that I'm racing in GTPLMS, you've got brakes  ... yet I'm able to get even tyre wear out of both. More than I can say about my Supra !

Driving an MR takes a bit of adjustment. I've been struggling with the Supra because of the Ford GT. It's like dating a redhead and a blonde at the same time :dopey: ... they're the same, yet different.

I don't know what you're doing to burn the tires off ? But I'd say there is an adjustment of driving style to be learned. The MR's give you a chance to balance the driving line. More "tranny braking" than pedal. It's not designed to "dive" into corners, but float. Accelarator pedal modulation vs. tyre wrenching cornering.

Your advantage in an MR is the tyre wear/lap speed.
If it wasn't for that, I'd never be close to Neil and Andy in the GTPLMS.

Right!

I have a line of 5, 50 Gallon drums of nicely warmed sulphuric acid sitting in the garden, a pot of double strength espresso coffee for me, and a bottle of really strong stim's in my pocket!

Any takers, before the results come out?:trouble:

Mwah Haha!
Neil

Well,I can't wait.off to bed now.It's midnight here,my eyes are sutting down...
Only this sulphuric acid-thing can hold them wide open.

3 stopper pretty consistent but not fast enough consistently to compete I don't think my fast lap of 1'19.5xx was a lot higher then my average.

Good Luck all!

Times submitted to Viper.

Did a 2 stopper where I started out on RM-RH for the first 12 laps before switching to RS-RM. I would have done better had there not been a spin or two. :yuck: Ah well... On to the next round.:)

I know I can pull more out of those tires. The thing is, I'm not using a DFP, and I'm not any good on this track, and I was rushed for time, and I've never been easy on tires. Between not knowing the track and using a DS2, I didn't want to even TRY to make an effort to make the tires last. I would've done consistent 1'24 or 1'25 laps.

Actually, there's no way I could've done laps that slow(on purpose), it hurts me to drive slow. Hahaha.

And yes, I DID go backwards on the track.

And not once did I meet up with the AI for a nice draft. I always ran into them right after the first turn and they'd get in my way on the exit there. *sigh*

Fast guys I need some input.

JGTC closing from Mon Dec 18 until Sun Dec 31 or not???

Just say yes or no. Tomorrow night when I come home I'll check the results and put the appropriate # of laps for qualif if we don't close.

I'm happy with it staying open over that period of time, though I'm not fussed if it does close.

I'm up for racing
beats watching the stupid xmass shows that will be on :(

Huge Congrats to the Podium !
Partner - you are one scarry mother :) 12 seconds on second ?

A little concerned that there were only 13 submissions :(
What the hell ? doesn't anyone believe in honoring their word ?
Most of the DNS are those that whined about the vetting process ?
can't remember

Awesome race GTX!!! Some speedy stuff you put down... 👍

What's a vetting process? Lol.

Looks like there was some pretty damn close competition there at the end of the pack! Hahaha!

Did Drift or Die really not submit? He just said up ^there^ that he did a 3 stopper. Odd.

Ouch! I lost 3 spots (and, consequently, 3 points) because of my 10 second penalty (no qual. submitted). I won't let that happen again. It's just that I left my qual. to the last minute and then there was sort of an unexpected party at my place. I didn't have the inner nerd fortitude to tell my friends to leave so I could turn 9 laps at Fuji. :)

For my race, I went out wanting to get a run on a set of Softs but I ended up wearing out my second set of tires too soon so I had to stick to Mediums.

L01 RM/RM - was getting 1'25.xxx
L12 RM/RM - started hitting 1'23.xxx
L22 RM/RM - almost all 1'23.xxx with a few faster at the very end

*******As for JGTC closing for holiday, it won't help me any. I'm up for staying open.******

Holy crap, my run felt pretty good but I never thought I could take P2 with the DS2!

Congratulations to GTXDriver and our illustrious race admin 👍 Feeling quietly confident... :trouble: :sly:

Great times everyone! I finished up around were I thought I'd be, I really need to put some more time into the next race.

Wow!
Great racing guys, well tho's that bothered to do the race that is!:irked:

Honestly,
what was the point of entering a long race series, promising to commit to the whole season, and then not having the common descency to carry out you word?
Even if you had and excuse guys, all it would take is a quick post to say you have a problem.

Pathetic really!
Ok, rant over!

Congrats to the podiums! as always. Great times! especially from Laszlo! Way to go good buddy!

And I believe that I must be psychic, cos the 5 drums of acid are awaiting Mullen, Del, Soyfu, Cam and Kyle!
And there's only Del on a positive weight figure!

That boosts my ego no end! :sly:

EDIT!
@ EATS!

Keep the racing coming good buddy!
It's only a commercialised Pagan festival after-all!

Neil

Oh no! Don't you want to melt all the guys who are faster? Why are we a threat? :)

Honestly, I haven't done the "banker" race and then rerun since the 2005 preseason. I think I might need to start making more runs, now, since my life is on the line.

Yep I had to deal with the GF's parents all day and it took longer then I thought. I fired Eats a message @ 7 with my race time of 42'07.xxx saying I'd get the exact figures to him when I got in but I guess it wasn't good enough... Would have been good enough for 6th (after a penalty on lap 30 that cost me 10 seconds!!!) plus a bonus pt I believe, but I don't really see the point now though since I haven't a chance of competing in the actual series standings so it'll be tough to get going on the next week.

Congrats to GTX he definitely the class of the field this week! Good job by Zeratul getting up there in a Z as well!

Thanks, I think I'll have to have another go at this for fun once I get my wheel. I'm interested to see what time I could've put down. One thing to note: I don't notice the Z's understeer as much with the DS2. Maybe it's just the surfacing of Fuji vs. Apricot Hill :odd:

On the GF's parents front...I'll be meeting mine for the first time over the Xmas long weekend. She's from a small village in Eastern Switzerland and she's the only one in her family who speaks English  Gonna be an interesting Xmas :)
