RULES : Standard online racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No cheating of any kind


Since you are racing with other AI cars little incident may occur and result in an excursion off the track, those are normal racing battles. Passing another car should always be done with caution and fair play just like in real life.

Discussion about FASTEST LAPS are tolerated, but that's the only value allowed to be discussed.
 
This is quite interesting.

The AI are only a problem in the final turn, on the opening lap. When they seem totally incapable of taking the corner, unless they scrub 20mph off their speed, and virtually park themselves right in the racing line.
That being said, a slightly later apex allows me to sail right on by, 25mph faster than they are over the hill to the line. However, get the timing wrong by being too close..........and it's GAME OVER!

Done a couple of runs and managed a fastest lap of 1'08.4xx in the second run.

Nice, I only broke into 1'08s in free run with no AI.
This looks to me like RX7 friendly track.

I did the qualifying around Deep Forest.Saw some laps under 1'09,most of them in the low 1'09.Had a flawless run,maybe I will try to shave a little bit more time from my result...
I have a hotlap of 1'08.466,but it seems it is not enough...I've tried the Pitwork :drool: and the RX-7 :nervous: and I can say that each one has the potential to win the qualifying.
I can't believe how good is the Pitwork...
I told Zeratul to change the RX-8...but not to win the whole championship...:)
 
I just tried the Z and the RX8 - I'm not switching :-)
This track is not forgiving and requires concentration. I find it very hard to keep good line and speed thru the high speed corners before T1 and also nailing the final turn at 215 kmh is good adrenaline rush.

:lol: Hey I'm due. Ever since that missed opportunity in the test season (ask DRIVEN -USA- about that one, lost the championship by 2 points due to some confusion over what day of the week it was :banghead: ) and I've been playing catch-up due to my traveling, and poor car choices. Finally a good car and the time to put into this...

Of course, nothing's stopping ya from taking it away from me... :sly:

There is a plenty of guys - and a girl !, not to forget - who can win the title.So I can promise only that I will try to do my best...and if all of the circumstances will be given...try to make a little bit harder your way to being a champion here. :)
Anyway, it's not a shame for me to be beated by someone who is better than me. 👍

My best is a very smokey 1'09'0xx(I drifted the first and last corners):lol:
But Ill keep on trying.

I actually had some time tonight, so Time Submitted.
Ended up getting my goal, and also a fast lap of 1:08.2xx. That's the best I'm going to do.

I will say that the Panoz was up to his old tricks again. I HATE racing against that over-powered tub of a car. Line up was

FINA BMW McLaren F1GTR
Pagani Zonda LM
Nissan GTR LM
Ford GT LM SpecII

and the only one I had trouble with was the Panoz...and dodging the FINA and Zonda coming onto the main straight. Wow do they go slow.

Well, I too, managed to get a few more runs in, and am submitting in a little while.
Chopped 20 seconds off my previous fastest run, and also got a 1'08.2xx fastest lap!

Line up is the usual: Ford GT Spec II, Fairlady Z Concept, GT-R Concept, Zonda and the Mac.

All laps but 1 & 2 under 1'09, and L2 was only over that because of the low entry speed onto the SF straight.
In the lead B4 the crest of the first hill on the SF straight.

I really enjoy Deep Forest, even tho it takes a bucket-load of concentration to keep it together and off the cliff wall.

We'll see how the results pan-out.

Neil, How do you end up without the Panoz Pig? We race the same car and it is ALWAYS there, no matter how many times i re-enter the race. With that lineup, I could knock at least 5s off of EVERY time! my eyes are a little green right now! ;)
 
Probably down to the different versions we use Chris (PAL/NTSC)

Have a look over at the Mazda cup thread and see what I've been doing all evening!

still in the '09's and less then 10 seconds behind my p :(
not my best track... never did get the hang of this one...sigh
still need about another 7 seconds or so before I'm a little happy with the run.
but for now... it's light out and time for sleep :)
 
I hear ya JR about this track being a bear.
Get in the lead, spin out, hit wall, restart, and do it again.
I think I tried to start the race 15 times, and ended up finishing 3, luckily the 2nd race was the best.
 
Time submitted. Managed a low 1'08 fast lap. Bit messy, but overall a solid run. I didn't have as much time this week as I would've liked

You guya all have me beat I'm afraid. I saw only one 08 and it wasn't in the run I submitted, but ran very consistant 1'09's.

It's hard to get any idea where everyone else is in relation to yourself, cos not many guys are posting, let alone divulging their fastest laps.

Anyway.....
Deadline's come and gone.

So!
I really loved this quali race, the AI weren't a problem.
Passed the 5th place car on the entry to the first tunnel,
The 4th place (Zonda) in the 1st tunnel,
Sling-shotted past the 3rd guy up the hill, after sacrificing speed into the dip to give faster exit speed,
Slip-streamed up behind 2nd all the way up the hill, but had to stay behind till the final corner,
Then rocketted past both 2nd and 1st (the Ford GT SII) before the crest of the 1st hill on the SF straight.
All in the 1st lap!

The rest, as they say (whoever 'they' is) is history!

Looking forward to the race proper!

I would actually enjoy little more activity in the JGTC threads too.

I did have some trouble with the AI. Took me until T1 on lap 2 to get the lead. I only had two laps in 1'08s but the were both 1'08.5 I kept braking too late for the first corner and the final corner was hit or miss. Sometimes I had to slow down to 205kmh, sometimes I nailed it at 225.

Already tried couple of laps with tire wear and it looks like the tire strategy will be easy three stopper this week.

And very nice showing from our newest colleague(sp?) Sammi! Awesome times in the Mobil 1 NSX. And to Mullen, for being RIGHT there in his Takata.

NOT TO MENTION! The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finishers! Haha, congrats on getting some points guys. 👍

I'll spend some more time on the actual race, and will be posting more often. This past week(/months) has(have) been pretty busy... Not really enough time to actually be playing this game as much is required.

GTX, did you forget to submit? or not have time? Sorry to hear that man!
