Jordan. Help with new site.

Hello everyone. Jordan, I have created a website very similar to gtplanet. Except mine is about Socom:US Navy Seals.I have tried to spread the word but us.playstation says that I am advertising my website. Would you say I was advertising if I posted the link in a thread here? I alredy have the forums up but the actual public website is not complete. Just reply and I will post the link. Just wanted your approval first.

Having it in your sig is perfectly fine but posting links out of place is spammy and will end up with you getting warned/banned.
 
I think he's showing the proper respect in this case, by at least addressing Jordan directly about the issue. Perhaps he could have PM'd Jordan, but at least this way he may get some positive feedback from other members about how to get more exposure for his non-GT site.

1989therat, try simplifying your sig to just the URL for your Socom site and maybe some brief info about what it is, at least for the time being. Also, (and I may be outdated on this) be sure and add some meta tags to your site's main pages, to attract spider and bot attention, from the major search engines.

Just to officially confirm what has already been said. It's fine to publicise your own site in a non-misleading way in your signature, providing that your site is not obviously breaching the rules of GTPlanet, regarding the distribution of illegal or offensive material.

If you wish to create a thread for your own site, it's only really common courtesy to contact Jordan about it directly. Which you have done, although it would have been better sent as a Private Message.

However, you are welcome to link to your site in your signature. That way, everybody wins: you're encouraged to get involved and help our community grow, and your site gets exposure. Thanks Jordan...I'll be sure to put gtplanet as a link on my website. It's tough getting forums started..lol....but I had over 50 members in 2 days..but I accidentally deleted them...lol...they'll join back

You should make the link to your website and forums more clear in your sig, plus your sig is currently too long you should keep it to 6 lines (including spaces).

If your site is the link in your sig, mice work! I see you're using invision free. Good on you. Not changed the logo yet i see?
