JP Version and PAL Version

Hi all,

I have both versions and was wondering if I should hold on to my JP version because of certain cars or options that were not included in the PAL version.

My question: Did PD include EVERYTHING that was in the PAL version that was in the JP version? Or did they cut things out of the PAL version?

I just dont want to make the same mistake that many of us did when we got rid of the JP version of GT3 only to find out that the PAL version had fewer F1 cars.

the pal version has the option to buy the 'original suspension' where as the japanese version dotesnt, but what do the original suspension do anyway?

Apart from language issues (unless you speak Japanese of course) which version of GT4 is the better?
I have the US and UK versions. Apart from the HDTV and Prog Scan options of the US game I feel the UK (PAL) version is superior. Although the PAL intro may not be to everyones taste it does play in 5.1. There seems to be virtually no sign of the "screen shake" that has affected the NTSC game (only time I see it is during the rolling start at the Nurburgring and only for a second whereas the US has it in spades). And there are to errors in the game itself on the US version; the description of the Suzuka Circuit is missing and the on the LSD screen the bars cover the writing in part. Even the PAL manual is better as the US one can be hard to read as the print is in a light grey against a white background, to stop photocopying I presume.
So, for once, I think the PAL territories actually get a good deal! 👍

Ha! Yeah......
Well, unless you have HDTV or 480p Prog Scan (and I do, though I'm sure many, many people in the UK don't) the PAL GT4 is way ahead of the US version. So that's 2 - 0!!
 
In Australia we get the PAL version, and on another forum I visit a lot of aussie players were annoyed that Australia wasn't getting the HDTV version and all said that they would import GT4 from the US instead. But what I don't understand is the PS2 (atleast in Aus) only has AV outputs (the yellow, red, and white cables) and I thought that can't output HDTV quality.

Can someone explain how it works? I asked the same question on this other fourm and all these guys who wanted the NTSC version didn't answer me.
