Just a couple of easy ones (I hope)

Hi everyone: Just two questions:

- I'm trying B-spec for the long-distance races. With a highly-tuned Ford GT 40 05', Laguna Seca, hard sport tyres, these last for 5-6 laps in acceptable conditions, which means I have to pit every 10 minutes or so, about 12 times in a 90-lap race? Which I find a real pain. Am I doing something wrong?

- Having finished all Beginner and Professional Races (with gold medals), I can`t enter the last of the Professionals (GT World Championship), because it says I have to finish all the previous races before. Which I have already done. Am I doing something wrong? Could it be I got a bronze medal in a race? It's so hard for me to spot the difference. I've checked a thousand times and they all look gold.

I can live with the first problem, but I can't procceed any further in the game with the second. :grumpy:

Any suggestions welcome. And thanks a lot in advance.

First one, give the car more traction control, set the TCS to around 5 and that'll improve tyre wear, other than that I think the Ford GT's just eat tyres.

Secondly, yes you need to get gold for EVERY race in the beginner and professional hall to enter the GT world championship, make sure you look carefuly because the bronze cups can look like a gold one sometimes.

Make sure you have gotten gold in each SERIES as well. Then clean up any individual races you may have skipped or come in later.

As Duke said, make sure you have gold in the series. EDIT uh I mean the championships.

I don't think traction control will make any tyre wear difference to b-spec. I'm sure someone has tested this somewhere and found that b-spec, for all his faults, has sublime throttle control?

Some one did a test and found that B-Spec drivers turn the driving aids off by themselves.

Laguna's weird. Some of the same cars as NY and El Cap, but they're not using sport tires anymore. They're on R2s.

I'd recommend switching to R1 tires.

No kidding? I didn't know that. The Laguna endurance is still on my endurance to do list, along with the 3 24hour and the 1 9 hour races. I owned Laguna in GT3, but it seems to be my bane in GT4

Two things that effect tyre wear greatly is brake balance and toe angle.

If your rear brake setting is to high the rears will wear quickly. You can reduce this but test it yourself as it can unbalance the car under braking and you may need to reduce your front brake setting as well. Generally when using sports tyres on any car the brake settings should be quite low as they have low grip causing the wheels to lock quickly.

The toe angle should probably be set to 0 front and back. If its at a minus value in the rear this will defintely need changing.

Another thing that could help. If you have any power increase mods on the car remove them or try extending the gear ratios. It may be that even with B spec Bobs throttle control there is to much torque being applied at low revs.

But the best option would be to get some racing tyres and try the above. I'm pretty sure you can use them for the Laguna endurance race.

With regard to point 2 its nice to know its not just me whos has trouble seeing which is bronze and which is gold. But I cna't really help.

Hope this is some use
