After I get an answer, any moderator or what ever can close this, I know if I post it in the electronic question, I won't get an answer for a year.

I've been getting prank calls by this immature pricks who are my ' ex-friends ', I guess you can say. And I'm getting a new cell phone plan, company, phone and phone number the 10th of February or so. So I was wondering if any one who ever owns a Verizon cell phone, do you know how much or if any thing money at all... Would Verizon charge to change your phone number? Because if this occurs some how with my new phone, I'm going to be changing my phone number often. Even if it's $20 - $40, I'll change it, I'm sick of these immature brat's.

Thanks, and once again, please don't move or close until I get an answer? :)

Why not ring Verizon and ask them? Over here it depends on who your with, where you are in your contract, how much you pay a month ect. Most of the time I could get someone a new number for free, but then it's been a year since I've had anything to do with mobile phone re-selling and upgrading ect.

My friend just told me... Free to change number, but it costs to change your plan. That is all. Close!

If it's that much of a problem, can't you just threaten legal action? I'm pretty sure that you can get the authorities involved if you've asked your "ex-friends" to stop, and they keep calling.

He's fifteen (I presume).

It's free to change your number? Cool! Can we pick new numbers??

There's probably a setting somewhere in your phone that will "block calls from people not in the contact list." Look for that before you go changing your number.

^^ Yeah I'll try.

But the thing is, the kids that prank call me, are like the CKY Crew ( aka Bam Margera posers ) and they do crazy stupid stuff. They came up to my window like a year ago and just started banging on it at 2AM. I'm like dude wtf is your problem. But if I do take legal action, I'm just worried they'll pull a stupider move, like spray painting my house or something.

I think switching to a new company will automatically change your number. You just can't pick it, if you wanted to do that. That will also land you with a necessary 2-year plan.

When I got my phone from a new company they let me pick numbers from an available list.

Nah, I know I can pick a number, but just incase they some how get a hold of it, that's like the main issue.
