Well after seeing a results thread and knowing the poll couldn't be put up until the thread was made, I was wondering if instead of making the thread then adding the poll, if you could click "submit reply" and instead of posting the thread, it would just bring you to the poll options, then hitting "Done" there would post the poll. Also, maybe an option to edit the poll, but it would start it over, rather than add a whole new option or switch them. Just some food for thought.

If vBulletin allows you to modify an option like that, then I support your idea.

Ciao!

Meh, for some reason I personally just feel that it's so much easier to have a separate thread. You see, the new thread will show up at the top of the forums, and the viewer won't be confused, the stages of the cometition or such will be separated.

No, that's not what I'm saying really. What I mean is the poll at the top of poll threads can be added before the thread is posted. If you've ever posted a poll or seen a voting thread without a poll, you know it posts the thread first then lets you add the options to it.

I can see the benefit of your suggestion, but it's not a setting I can change in vBulletin and I don't think the time required to modify it would be worth the slight increase in functionality it would provide.

What about the suggestion to allow polls to be editted though?

I'd love that for the Weekly Drift Series. It's happened on several occasions now, that a entrant will submit me their entry video about 10-15mins after I've posted the poll.

i have a suggestion, would it be possible to make it so you could edit your poll choices, for example, in "what browser do you use" i voted IE, then switched to FF, and i want to change but i can't

No, poll editing can only be done by moderators, and I can't enable vote changing for anyone. This functionality is hard-coded into the forum software.

Just wondering if theres been any updates to the forum software since 2006. Is there any way to make it possible to change your vote in a poll? I see people making mistakes regularly, often due to language misunderstandings and things of that nature. Also, like Thiele mentioned- people often aquire new hardware, software, or even perspectives that require a change of their vote.

It would be better if the poll creator could have it as an option.

"[ ] Check to make vote-changing possible."

This all seems very simple and reasonable to me, am I off in that thought?

Mr. J?

Sorry, no, that's still not a feature.
